Patrick Mahomes’ wife issues defiant ‘four-word’ message of support for her under-fire Chiefs husband

Patrick Mahomes’ wife Brittany has given her under-fire husband a public vote of confidence as the fallout to the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback’s temper tantrum continues.

Mahomes and the Chiefs suffered their second consecutive loss on Sunday after a 17-20 defeat at the hands of the Buffalo Bills.

The game ended in highly controversial fashion when the Chiefs had a go-ahead TD chalked off after receiver Kadarius Toney was correctly judged to have been offside.

Mahomes completely lost his cool at the officials at the end of the game, dropping f-bomb after f-bomb as he let his feelings be known.

“That was f****** terrible,” Mahomes said while shaking hands with Bills QB Josh Allen.

“Worst f****** call I’ve ever seen,” Mahomes added.

The two-time Super Bowl MVP was widely criticised for his over the top reaction, but it seems he has the full backing of his other half.

Brittany Mahomes posted a series of Instagram images of herself with her family with a defiant caption that read: “Riding with 15 always,” referencing the Chiefs signal caller’s jersey number.

Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have indeed been riding with each other since high school, tying the knot in 2022.

Fans of the couple shared messages of support on social media following Brittany’s defiant post.

“Plenty of us still love and support your family always ♥️💛 Defend #15 until the end!”, one fan commented.

“We’re all riding with the Mahomes family,” said another.

“He’s the man! And a great role model to my boys! He makes Chiefs Kingdom proud. We love the passion!,” added a third.

“He’s human. We all make mistakes. If he’s sorry that’s up to him. Everyone else move on. He’s a good guy with a passionate heart,” a fourth wrote.

Like her under-fire husband, Brittany was equally belligerent to officials in the moment’s after Sunday’s game.

She uploaded a short video to Instagram that showed a close-up look at one of the referees.

As the camera briefly zoomed in, the word ‘MVP’ hovered over the ref, as Brittany sarcastically suggested he was the real star of the game.

Following his temper tantrum, Mahomes reflected on his handling of the situation and expressed regret over the way he acted.

Speaking to 610 Sports in Kansas City, Mahomes said: “Obviously, you don’t want to react that way. I care, man. I love this game. I love my teammates. I want to go out there and put everything on the line to win.

He also admitted one of his biggest regrets was acting the way he did towards Allen, who had no role in the play that cost the Chiefs the game.

“Obviously, can’t do that,” Mahomes added. “Can’t be that way towards the officials or really anybody in life. I probably regret acting like that. More than anything, I regretted the way I acted towards Josh after the game because he had nothing to do with it.

“I was still hot and emotional, but you can’t do that, man. That’s not a great example for kids watching the game. So, I was more upset about that than I was about me on the sideline.”

The Chiefs’ loss to the Bills drops them to 8-5 on the season but they still maintain control in the AFC West.

The No.1 in the division is still theirs with a winnable game against the disaster Patriots scheduled for the weekend.
