Football fans are absolutely mind-blown after some observers shared a ridiculous statistic regarding Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.

As noted by Neil Paine of Stathead, the Chiefs’ superstar signal-caller has been in seven situations in a playoff game where KC was either tied or trailing by fewer than seven points in the final minute of the fourth quarter or overtime.

And Mahomes has scored in all seven of those situations, including twice alone in the Chiefs’ Super Bowl 58 victory over the San Francisco 49ers eight days ago:

For comparison sake, Tom Brady was 5-for-11 in such situations, and Drew Brees was 3-for-6. Current New York Jets signal-caller and former Green Bay Packers star Aaron Rodgers is 3-for-4 in those circumstances.

Needless to say, this insane and unbelievable Mahomes stat left fans on social media mind-blown:

So Mahomes absolutely, literally, has been unstoppable with the game on the line in the playoffs.

The 2018 New England Patriots had the fortunes of winning the overtime coin toss against Mahomes’ Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game at Arrowhead. Though KC tied that game with a last-second field goal, the Patriots won the game by scoring a touchdown on the opening drive of OT.

That was three years before the NFL changed the playoff overtime rules, however, allowing every team to possess the ball at least once. As the 49ers learned, not scoring a TD on their opening drive of OT against Mahomes and company was costly.
