An NFL running back has called curtains on his professional career after eight seasons in the league.

Mike Davis, who played with several teams from 2015-2022, took to social media to announce his decision to retire from the game on Monday afternoon.

The former South Carolina star is celebrating his 31st birthday today and has made it more momentous given his retirement announcement.

“As I turn 31 today, I sit back and look on my NFL career and how thankful I am to be apart of a brotherhood,” he wrote. “This game has allowed me to make a lot of friends and memories. I’m grateful for every organization in NFL. With that being said I’m retiring!”

Davis last played for the Baltimore Ravens in 2022, having been drafted in the fourth round by the San Francisco 49ers in 2015.

He joined the Seattle Seahawks after his stint with the Niners, also representing the Chicago Bears, Carolina Panthers, and Atlanta Falcons.

He ends his career with 2,052 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns, as well as 1,066 receiving tards and four TDs.
