Lupe Fiasco and Joe Budden Confirm They Have No Problems With Kendrick Lamar or Drake

Lupe and Budden have been known to be very critical of both Drizzy and K Dot.

Lupe Fiasco and Joe Budden have cleared the air to reveal they have no animosity towards Kendrick Lamar and Drake.

On Sunday, Lupe kicked off a wide-ranging X Spaces conversation in which he explained he didn’t have any issues with Kendrick. According to Lupe, he’s a fan of K Dot and his creativity and admires what he’s done for Black culture.

“I’m a Kendrick fan for more than his music,” he told a fan during the chat. “I like his creativity and conceptualization. And the decisions that he makes. I also like his impact into the culture for Black folks. I like that he inspires Black folks. That’s why I never said I don’t like him.”

Lupe added, “Cause even if I don’t like all his songs or listen to all his songs — and same thing with Drake — I understand their impact into the culture and I would never, ever, ever — because for me it’s us first.”

Lupe then logged into Budden’s X Spaces conversation on Monday to discuss the beef between K Dot and Drizzy. Lupe started off saying he only heard “Push Ups” and Ross’s response, “Champagne Moments,” but Budden implied the Chicago native disliked K Dot, which Lupe denied and said Budden hated Drake.

However, Budden explained his critiques of Drake come from a place of love in the same way Lupe’s alleged distaste for his peer comes from. Lupe corrected the statement and said he actually loves Kendrick, while Budden did the same for Drake. After going back and forth with Budden, Lupe finally revealed there was no beef with Kendrick despite fans feeling otherwise.

“No matter what was said in the past, what you think happened, what happened, what didn’t happen, I personally and professionally do not have a problem with my brother-in-arms, Kendrick Lamar,” he said. “No matter what you hear on TikTok or what a n***a said that I said or did what I did, I do not have a problem with him. Can we please try to work together to start to put that narrative a little bit to bed?”

Lupe has been speaking about his alleged beef with K Dot since Complex compiled a list of artists who have apologized to the Compton rapper. His placement on the list fired him up enough to call out Complex and state he’s not afraid of any rapper.

“Relax yo,” said Lupe. “I wasn’t apologizing to him… Keep my name clean…I fear no rapper of any kind or on anytime. K dot solid but y’all need to chill lol.”

Lupe also just announced a fall tour for his latest album Samurai, which was inspired by quotes from Amy Winehouse’s Amy documentary.
