Video: Cardi B Scores Another Legal Victory as Judge Dismisses Claim in Assault Lawsuit

Rapper Cardi B has successfully secured a legal win in the ongoing lawsuit filed by a female security guard who alleged physical and verbal assault by the artist in 2018. The court has granted Cardi B’s motion to dismiss one of the claims, marking a development in the legal battle.

According to court documents obtained by Radar Online, the Los Angeles Superior Court judge agreed to dismiss the false imprisonment claim brought by Emani Ellis, the security guard who initiated the lawsuit. Additionally, the court decided to extend the trial date, pushing it from February to April.

In 2020, Ellis claimed she approached Cardi B while working as security at a medical building and asked for a photo. The situation escalated into an argument, with Ellis alleging that Cardi B physically assaulted her, using racial slurs and profanities. The lawsuit further contended that Cardi B’s actions led to Ellis being fired from her job.

One significant detail in the incident was Cardi B’s alleged pregnancy with her daughter Kulture at the time, which was not publicly disclosed. Ellis asserted that Cardi B’s team exploited the rapper’s celebrity status to influence the termination of her employment.

While the lawsuit demanded unspecified damages, Cardi B vehemently denies all allegations.
