Patrick Mahomes makes people often forget how incredibly talented his competition is during these six years in which he has been a started for the Kansas City Chiefs. There are so many great talented quarterbacks right now, that it is kind of hard to understate how much more valuable Mahomes’ victories have been when playing directly against many of them. Next weekend, the Chiefs are set to play the AFC Championship against the Baltimore Ravens in Maryland. His rival will be none other than Lamar Jackson, who has already been voten as the NFL MVP unanimously. The Ravens are the No.1 seeded team in the entire league, with Lamar Jackson as the frontrunner to be named the season’s MVP. This could be his second MVP, meaning he is also proving he wants all the smoke from Mahomes while on the field. Jackson himself already stated he doesn’t like competing against Patrick Mahomes. However, this season has given Lamar the confidence to know he has what it takes to knock Patrick Mahomes off his perch come Sunday. The way he described it is as two great boxing heavyweights going against each other. Making that refference to what facing Patrick will be next Sunday.

For Mahomes, it is also easy to give Lamar Jackson his flowers, especially this season in which he is the MVP frontrunner. He said: “The way he’s able to score the football… I’ve admired watching him from afar and I know it’s going to be a great challenge going up against him. He’s going to be the MVP for a reason. He goes out there, he leads his team, he scores, he runs, he throws. He does whatever it takes to win, and that’s what the greats do. I knew we were gonna play in a lot of games like this as our careers have gone on, and I’m sure this will be the first of many.”
