New Report Reveals Astronomical Amount Of Money Taylor Swift Helped Generate For Kansas City Chiefs During 2023 Season
Taylor Swift reportedly helped the Kansas City Chiefs make well over a quarter of a billion dollars throughout the 2023 season.
The Grammy Award-winning singer has been in a relationship with Chiefs superstar tight end Travis Kelce for several months. Their relationship has drawn plenty of media coverage, and Swift has attended plenty of Chiefs games to support her beau throughout the year.
Citing data from the Apex Marketing Group, Margaret Fleming of Front Office Sports reports that Swift helped the Chiefs generate more than $330 million in “equivalent brand revenue” this season:
“Everybody knows Taylor Swift has had a massive impact on the NFL this year, and many might be wondering exactly how to measure it. Now, some of the results are in.
Swift has generated an equivalent brand value of $331.5 million for the Kansas City Chiefs and the NFL, Apex Marketing Group tells Front Office Sports. That number, calculated Jan. 22, comes from print, digital, radio, TV, highlights, and social media mentioning Swift going back to her first game on Sept. 24, then figuring out the equivalent dollar value for each instance based on reach and impact. Online news and digital content has created the most value, followed by social media, Apex president Eric Smallwood says. For reference, back in mid-October, that figure sat at $166 million, Smallwood says.”
Swift is one of the world’s most beloved and recognized celebrities, and Kelce is among America’s most popular athletes. Throw in the fact that the Chiefs have emerged as football’s model organization in the Patrick Mahomes era, and there’s simply no limit to how much attention, marketing and branding the AFC super team can draw.
The Chiefs have always been a major draw in television ratings under Mahomes, but Swift’s relationship with Kelce has only made the team more globally followed.
The Chiefs are once again in the midst of a deep playoff run, having defeated the Buffalo Bills last Sunday to reach their sixth straight AFC Championship Game. Kelce and the Chiefs will look to continue the thrilling journey when they visit Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday.
