Everybody Made The Same Joke About Taylor Swift & Selena Gomez After The NFL Put The Chiefs’ Playoff Game On Peacock
The Kansas City Chiefs will host the Miami Dolphins in a wild-card playoff game Saturday and fans are not happy about it.
The reason?
Because it will only be aired on Peacock, which means you’re going to need to pay money to see it if you don’t already subscribe to NBC’s streaming service. It will be “the first playoff game in NFL history to air exclusively on a streaming network.”
The other reason?
Because the league knows that Taylor Swift fans will purchase it just for a chance to possibly see her yet again at a football game cheering on Travis Kelce.
Once the news was revealed, football fans couldn’t help but make jokes about the NFL using Swifties to make more money with the Chiefs playoff game streaming exclusively on Peacock.
In fact, some of them used a clip of Selena Gomez talking to Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes.
Swift has been attending Chiefs games throughout the season, thanks to her relationship with Travis Kelce.
The NFL has never had a problem with ratings, but since Swift started showing up, the ratings have been getting even better.
Peacock paid the NFL an estimated $110 million to air the first-ever exclusive, live-streamed NFL playoff game and the league clearly made an intentional decision to place one of the most popular teams based on viewership in that primetime window.
It’s not personal, just business.
