Cardi B’s Comments About Plastic Surgery Didn’t Age Well

Cardi B’s thoughts on plastic surgery have definitely changed over the years.

One thing about Cardi B, she won’t hold back from weighing in on controversial matters. For instance, years ago before she was famous for her music, she made a strong statement about women who get plastic surgery, which didn’t age well (no pun intended).

The rapper, who’s married to Migos member, Offset, has had quite the physical transformation over the years. She admitted to having a botched nose job, as well as other procedures that she advised fans not to get. Here’s a closer look at Cardi’s cosmetic surgery history.

Cardi B Said She Didn’t “Understand” Why Women Get Plastic Surgery

Cardi B's Comments About Plastic Surgery Didn't Age Well

In September 2023, someone on Twitter reposted an old video of Cardi speaking against plastic surgery alongside a recent clip of her changed face. The Blue-checked user captioned it, “Cardi B Before and After Plastic Surgeries.” It started off with the Bongos hitmaker talking about her former colleagues.

“There’s a lot of girls that I used to work in the strip club that they always want to get surgery,” she shared at that time. “And it’s like, ‘Oh my gosh, you look amazing.’” She went on to say that she wasn’t “understanding” the addiction to getting such procedures.

“They have like three, four, five surgeries and they just wanna keep on going to Colombia,” she continued, “and keep doing it all over and over again. And I just don’t be understanding why.” She then concluded her statement by saying these girls won’t change unless they go to therapy.

“You can’t change them,” she said. “The only way you can change them and change self-esteem is if they go to therapy. So [tell] your b—- to go to therapy.” Fans turned on the hip-hop artist with one replying to the post: “Lmao people hate a lot of things they can’t afford until they have the money.”

Cardi B didn’t hesitate to call out the American paparazzi for taking unpleasant photos of her and distributing them to the public.

In an Instagram Live in December 2022, Cardi opened up about the “crazy process” of removing 95% of her butt injections. “I removed 95% of my biopolymers…if you know what biopolymers is, it’s ass shots,” she told her followers back then, per Buzzfeed. She also warned them not to get those shots.

During the livestream, she also shared a new perspective on plastic surgery — admitting that she had her nose done. “I got my nose done — I don’t give a —-,” she confessed. “I got my nose done because I had a big-ass nose. I had my daddy’s nose. That s–t had to go.”

She also reminded fans that if they don’t like something about their look, they should feel free to “fix it,” safely. “Whatever you do, don’t get ass shots,” she reiterated. “Don’t get ass shots, girl. I’m really against them. I’ll all the way support you if you wanna do alterations to your body. I’m all the way with it, but DO NOT get ass shots. I will never fu–king recommend them.”

Cardi B Received Plastic Surgery Advice From Kim Kardashian

In an episode of The Jason Lee Show in January 2023, Cardi said that Kim Kardashian gave her surgeon recommendations following a bad result from nose fillers. “I did fillers on my nose in 2019. And that s— f—— my nose up,” she said of following people who told her that the non-surgical procedure was better. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, what did I do to myself?’” (via People)

Thanks to Kim, Cardi found a doctor who fixed her botched “big nose”. “I remember the time we were at Kris’ [Jenner] house and Kim gave you a list of people you could call to get help. You didn’t call none of those people?” Lee asked, to which the Bodak Yellow singer replied: “No, I called a couple of people that she gave me.”

Cardi ended up getting rhinoplasty, which she doesn’t regret at all. “I look great,” she bragged during the podcast. Funny enough, also she clarified that going under the knife doesn’t make her insecure like she once said of others before. “This is the tricky thing about a lot of people,” she explained.

“People will assume when you do surgery or something, you’re insecure about yourself or you hate yourself,” she continued. “And that’s just not the truth. If I want to correct something, if I want to do a little something-something like … I’m gonna do it. I like being perfect. I like a certain type of body, like, for myself.”
