NBA fans think the thing that Nikola Jokic loves most in this world is his horses, but they’re all wrong. The thing he loves more than anything is his family, and especially his baby daughter.
In an interview with Katy Winge, Jokic opened up on what brings him the most joy in the world. While it’s obvious that the answer isn’t basketball, his response was still very wholesome.
“It’s gotta be the family and the things that I’m doing outside of basketball,” Jokic said. “Hearing my daughter laugh like crazy, that’s something that I like. That’s something you cannot buy, that’s something pure.”
For all of the memes and Twitter banter about Nikola Jokic and his horses, one thing fans need to remember is that he’s a family man at heart before it all. It’s clear that his family is his number one priority in life.
The other thing that needs to be reinforced is the fact that Jokic does in fact love the game of basketball. It’s become a ridiculous narrative online that he doesn’t care for the game at all and it’s just a job for him, but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
No one becomes a 2x NBA MVP, or a Finals MVP without having a serious level of passion. On top of that, no one gets ready to do it all again the way Nikola Jokic is this season.
