On Friday, the Los Angeles Lakers played against the San Antonio Spurs. It was a close game, but the Lakers maintained a lead throughout the game. The Lakers won the game 123-118. Despite the loss, the Spur’s rookie star Victor Wembanyama was praised for breaking a unique record during the game.

In the loss, the 2023 first-overall pick scored a 5×5 stat line with 27 points, 10 rebounds, 8 assists, 5 steals, and 5 blocks. In NBA history, this has only been done 21 times. He also became the youngest player for the achievement. The Spurs star also joined Michael Jordan as the only player to achieve this in consecutive games.

After the game, Lakers veteran LeBron James praised the rookie.
