Arnold Schwarzenegger is admitting his shortcomings and he frankly expressed his complete guilt for having an affair with his housekeeper Mildred Baena.

“It’s just because of me. Remember that my husband and I don’t have any feud” – Schwarzenegger frankly told People magazine about the affair that ruined his marriage with Maria Shriver – the former President’s niece. US Kennedy – ended in 2011.

This affair caused Schwarzenegger to have a son with Baena. Baby Joseph was born five days after the former California Governor welcomed son Christopher with his wife Shriver.

Despite the end of their marriage, Arnold Schwarzenegger (76 years old), affirmed that he and his ex-wife – a 67-year-old journalist – still have a good relationship.

“My chapter with Maria will continue forever. Even though it is another relationship, there is no reason for me to feel anything other than love for her” – Schwarzenegger declared.

The Terminator movie star also emphasized that he and his ex-wife always put their children first.

He explained: “We all have our relationships now, but we always talk about our children, holidays, birthday parties, Mother’s Day parties, Christmas…”.

In addition to Christopher, Schwarzenegger and Shriver have two daughters, Katherine, 33, and Christina, 32, as well as son Patrick, 30.

However, a source told Page Six in May that Shriver’s children “don’t love” their father’s illegitimate child.

“Arnold always treated Joseph like all his other children – very fairly.

 But for whatever reason, the other kids look down on Joe,” said a source close to Schwarzenegger.

The Netflix documentary Arnold revealed that Shriver learned of her husband’s affair during a marriage counseling session in 2011.

“Maria wants to know if you are Joseph’s father” – the Austrian star recalls their consultant asking him about Baena’s son, who bears a startling resemblance to Schwarzenegger.

“I thought my heart had stopped beating ” – the actor of True Lies recounted in the documentary. “And then I told the truth.”

The couple announced the end of their 25-year marriage in May 2011. A few days later, it was reported that Schwarzenegger had fathered a child with the family’s housekeeper.

However, Schwarzenegger and Shriver’s divorce was not finalized until 2021 because they did not have a prenuptial agreement and had to deal with a complicated property agreement.

Schwarzenegger started dating physical therapist Heather Milligan in 2013. The couple is still going strong to this day, despite their 27-year age difference.

As for Shriver, after the divorce she had a relationship with political analyst Matthew Dowd but it is known that they broke up at the end of 2020.
