Sylvester Stallone Backs Ryan Gosling For Next Rambo Role
In a twist that caught many off guard, Sylvester Stallone, a big name in Hollywood, is pushing for Ryan Gosling to take on the iconic role of Rambo in future movies of the action-packed franchise.

The filmmaker even acknowledged the potential skepticism from studio executives about Gosling’s attractiveness for the rugged role. He said,
“I’ll tell you why [I want Ryan Gosling as Rambo] I met him at a dinner, and obviously we’re opposites. He’s good-looking, I’m not. That’s how it works… You know, this is interesting. If I ever passed the baton, I’ll pass it on to him, because he loves the character.”
While Stallone believes Gosling could pull off the role, he also acknowledges the industry’s perception, the actor shared,
“I would say yes, but, I don’t know if anyone would say, Hey, he’s too good-looking to be Rambo.”
If Gosling were to step into Rambo’s shoes, it could mark a new chapter in the franchise, blending Stallone’s legacy with Gosling’s unique charm and talent. However, here’s a fun fact: the 43-year-old’s admiration for Stallone runs deep, too.

Ryan Gosling as Ken in Barbie (2023)
While filming Barbie, Greta Gerwig and Gosling hit it off over their shared love for none other than Sylvester Stallone.
Gerwig, the director, spilled the beans, revealing how she and Gosling bonded over their admiration for the action star. She said (Uproxx),
“I love all those Rocky movies. I love [Stallone] a lot. So it was a really early thing, actually. When Ryan Gosling and I were texting a lot, we kind of both stumbled upon our mutual love of Sly Stallone. And then we were talking about his look in the ’70s and how terrific it was. And he really adorned himself as a man.”
Further, the director added,
“We thought, Well, that’s a good place to start.I mean, there are just sort of fabulous images of him, particularly in the Rocky [movies].”
In the flick, Ken (played by Gosling) sets off on an adventure with Barbie (Margot Robbie) away from Barbieland and comes across images of Stallone, which triggers an identity crisis.
This prompts Ken to ponder what it truly means to be a real man, and in his quest for dominance, he adopts the iconic 1970s Stallone look.
As for Gosling possibly taking on the role of John Rambo in a new movie, only time will tell.
