Being a part of an action film can get really dangerous, really quickly and action legend Sylvester Stallone can absolutely vouch for this statement.
Thanks to films like The Expendables and Rocky Sylvester Stallone is no stranger to obtaining serious injuries while shooting.
However, the worst of the worst came while he was filming the third part of his extremely famous franchise.

Rocky III had Sylvester Stallone fighting one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Hulk Hogan.
If you’ve seen the strength of that man, you know things couldn’t have possibly ended well for Sylvester Stallone.
In fact, during a fight scene, Hulk Hogan hurt his co-star so severely that he refused to even take a look at his injured shoulder.
Sylvester Stallone’s Worst Injury Yet
Sylvester Stallone vs. Hulk Hogan in Rocky III
Hulk Hogan found Hollywood fame thanks to his role as Thunderlips in Rocky III.
It was Sylvester Stallone himself who called up the wrestler offering him a cameo in the film. Little did Stallone know that Hogan would end up giving him an injury he’d never forget!
During a ‘Superstar to Superstar’ interview, Hogan asked Stallone what was the worst injury he ever got while filming.
The action legend was quick to recall how it was the scene with Hogan where the injury left him absolutely traumatized.
Stallone, who also directed the film, couldn’t even put that shot into the final cut.
“Truthfully, the hardest I was ever hit was actually by you, Hulk Hogan. We didn’t put it in the movie [Rocky III] because I was so traumatized.
It was where you threw me into a corner and you leapt up, and you were really, really light on your feet that day, for 310 pounds.
You went up and caught me with your shin, believe it or not, on my collarbone.
I collapsed to the ground. I’ll never forget, I was laying there and I was thinking, ‘I don’t want to look.
I don’t want to look because that bone is sticking through my flesh and it’s over. Here’s the end of the movie.’”
While the pain was so severe that Stallone was afraid his bone might have pierced his skin, nothing of the sort happened.
Well, at least they are able to laugh about it now!
Hulk Hogan’s Wrath Continued on the Sets of Rocky III
Hulk Hogan as Thunderlips
Stallone’s injury at the hands of Hogan wasn’t the only time the wrestler ended up hurting someone on the set of his debut film. The First Blood actor shared a photo of him being manhandled by Hogan in the film.
“HULK just didn’t know his own strength. Believe it or not when he jumped into the audience to fight with the stuntmen, three of them had to be treated at the hospital.”
Despite all this, Stallone truly believes Hogan made the film better.
He ended his post by praising his co-star and letting him know that it was a pleasure being crushed by him.
“Great guy, great friend, his presence made the film very special.
HULK, if you’re reading this, it was a privilege to be mangled by such a gentleman.”
Perhaps Hogan was so used to fighting men of his own stature in the wrestling ring that he forgot to tone it down a little in the film.
