Arnold Schwarzenegger remembers fellow ‘Action Hero’ Bruce Willis and says kind words about his colleague

The former governor of California had some very kind words for his fellow ‘action hero.’

Arnold Schwarzenegger had some kind words about his fellow action star Bruce Willis.

The former governor of California sat down with CinemaBlend’s Sean O’Connell, where he opened up about his new action-comedy series FUBAR—a Netflix show following a CIA operative who has been keeping his real career a secret from his family, only to discover that his daughter is also a spy on his final mission before retiring.

The show marks his first leading role in a scripted, live-action TV series, proving that the 75-year-old actor has no intention of slowing down anytime soon.

Somewhere along the way, the focus of conversation shifted to Schwarzenegger’s colleague, whose family announced his retirement from the industry over a year ago following an initial diagnosis of aphasia.

More recently, his diagnosis was upgraded to frontotemporal dementia, but the Terminator star asserted that “action heroes” like Willis don’t ever really retire.

“I think that he’s fantastic,” he began of Willis and his impressive filmography.

“He was, always for years and years, is a huge, huge star. And I think that he will always be remembered as a great, great star.”

Schwarzenegger added, “And a kind man. I understand that under his circumstances, health-wise, that he had to retire. But in general, you know, we never really retire. Action heroes, they reload.”

After all, even though we won’t see him in anything new moving forward, his beloved performances in films like Die Hard and Pulp Fiction, not to mention non-action faves like Look Who’s Talking, where he lent his voice to baby Mikey, will live on forever, reaching new audiences year after year.
