Charlize Theron‘s movies as incredibly loved by her fans, however, she has had some major flops. Despite having won an Oscar, the Old Guard actress has seen a lot of bad reviews that come and go throughout her career. No matter how positive reviews might be there is always a possibility for a movie to not attract a crowd.
“There’s definitely this moment where it sometimes feels like years of work is just all of a sudden gone in a heartbeat. That’s the unfortunate thing about what we do. It’s not overnight. You don’t pull a good film off overnight. It’s tedious. It’s a lot of time and energy, and when it doesn’t work, you feel it; you really feel it.”
There are quite a few critically acclaimed movies that have not been liked all too much by audiences, Babylon, The Fabelmans, and Blade Runner 2049, to name a few. With that in mind, Theron too admitted that it was not the best experience for her.
How does Charlize Theron Handle Negative Feedback?
Listening to constant negative feedback over and over would get to anyone and Charlize Theron is no exception to this. Even as a producer, she understands that things will often not go according to plan. So when it comes to criticism towards a movie she is a part of, she tries to understand what she could have done differently.

“I’m not one of those actors who doesn’t care, and maybe it is because I’ve become a producer. But I do care. You work really hard on these things, and there’s nothing easy about it. When you somehow feel like you missed the mark, and people just didn’t either have an awareness or didn’t feel like there was a reason to see it.”
The constant need to please the audience was something that increased only after Theron took the role of a producer. It made her realize that there was more to filming than just reading through a script and was ready to take he career to bigger heights.
