Megan Fox has long established herself as a prominent name in Hollywood. Shot to fame with the Transformers movies after her debut in Holiday in the Sun, she has been part of many cult classics like Jennifer’s Body, and The Dictator.

Another thing she is wily famous for is being excessively blunt with her opinions. And this is exactly what seemed to tick off some people when after an interview, some disgruntled crew members from Michael Bay’s Transformers franchise posted an exceedingly degrading open letter on Bay’s website.
However, there seems to be more to the story as many suspect that it was none other than Bay himself who penned the letter out of pettiness.
Michael Bay has been called out many times for not only being sexist but also translating that sexism in his movies. From Kate Beckinsale to Chris Odowd, people have pointed out his not-so-appropriate portrayal of women in his movie and reduced their presence to just, “stand there and look pretty.”

This was similar to Megan Fox‘s account of her experience on the sets, as she claimed in an interview back in 2009. According to her, there was no substance to her character at all and when she would ask advice from the director, he would just tell her to “be hot.” She noted,
“Mike,” I’ll say, “Who am I talking to? Where am I supposed to be looking at?” And he responds, “Just be sexy.” I get mad when people talk to me like that.”
And rightfully so, because no one would like to be reduced to a piece of meat existing just to be ogled. She also compared working with him to working with Hitler because of the tyrannical way he behaved on the set, although she did mention he was fun being around when he wasn’t in his director mode.
And this, precisely, seemed to tick off those three ‘crew’ members as they not only called her names but yet again objectified her and went on to give unsolicited advice on her career telling her she should become a p**nstar.

The open letter, where the crew members said they would remain anonymous as revealing their identities could get them blacklisted in Hollywood stated,
“When facing the press, Megan is the queen of talking trailer trash and posing like a p**n star. And yes we’ve had the unbearable time of watching her try to act on set, and yes, it’s very cringe-able. So maybe, being a p**nstar in the future might be a good career option. But make-up beware, she has a paragraph tattooed to her backside (probably due her rotten childhood) — easily another 45 minutes in the chair!”

Not only that, but the letter from the crew claiming, “Megan really is thankless, classless, graceless, and shall we say unfriendly b**ch,” was filled with phrases and terms that many alleged were straight from Michael Bay’s vocabulary. As a result, many people wonder who really was the one hiding behind the anonymous letter.
Megan Fox left the Transformers franchise
After such a huge out-and-about mudslinging event involving both parties, it was no surprise when the actress left the franchise altogether abruptly. Although, Michael Bay tried to make amends initially after that inflammatory letter, saying,
“I don’t condone the crew letter to Megan. And I don’t condone Megan’s outlandish quotes. But her crazy quips are part of her crazy charm. The fact of the matter I still love working with her, and I know we still get along. I even expect more crazy quotes from her on Transformers 3,”
But that never came to pass. Although no such remarks were ever made again, Fox’s rep claimed that it was her decision to leave the franchise.

Thankfully for Megan Fox, the public mudslinging or her departure did not really affect her career much as she went on to participate in other major movies over the years like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more.
She is also making a grand comeback with this year’s The Expendables 4, starring opposite Jason Statham, Sylvester Stallone, Steven Seagal, and so on.
