Charlize Theron has been ruling over millions of hearts for more than two decades and continues to do the same. Over the years the award-winning actress has risen to become one of the highest-paid actresses in Hollywood.
However, being such a big star not only comes with fame and success, but it also includes the pressure that comes with being in the limelight all the time. The actress also got her share of pressure and stress after she got entangled in a high-stakes legal dispute after she faced a $20 million lawsuit by a luxury brand.

By 2008, she rose to become one of the most prominent actresses in the industry with two Oscar nominations, along with several accolades. And the offers for her weren’t limited to the silver screen. Along with starring in several blockbusters, she also endorsed several luxury brands.
While it is believed that Hollywood stars being sued is nothing out of the ordinary, people were amazed by the reason behind the Monsters actress being sued. She was sued by the Swiss watchmaking company Raymond Weil for breaching their agreement.

The agreement required her to wear only their watches in public from October 2005 and December 2006. However, she allegedly broke the terms of the contract, as she was seen wearing a watch from the Christian Dior line during a film festival. Theron was also seen wearing Montblanc jewelry on a billboard in Geneva, Switzerland.

The Lawsuit filed by Raymond Weil also revealed Charlize Theron’s deals with several other luxury brands and how much she received from the respective brands. She was paid $200,000 for wearing Chopard baubles to the 2006 Oscars and $50,000 to don gems at the 2006 BAFTA Awards.

While she wasn’t paid by Cartier Jewels, the luxury brand did provide her with a $35,000 ring, $8,000 earrings, and a $7,000 bracelet for the 2006 Golden Globes Awards. As for the lawsuit by Raymond Weil, it also did not last long, as she was able to settle it within a month by November 2008.
However, the terms of the agreement were kept confidential, and how much she was required to pay to the company was not revealed publicly. While the amount was not made available to everyone, it is believed that the Mad Max star might not have to pay the whole amount of the lawsuit as she was paid $3 million to endorse the brand.
