“He was a very nice man,” Osbourne said of The Beatles during a recent episode of ‘The Osbournes’ podcast
Ozzy Osbourne was in shock the first time he met Paul McCartney.
In the latest episode of The Osbournes podcast, the Black Sabbath artist, 75, opened up about the artist he was starstruck by, which just so happened to be the late Beatles musician.
“I’m a big Beatles fan and when I first met Paul McCartney, it was like meeting Jesus Christ,” Ozzy said.
He added: “And he was a very nice man, a very nice man. And when I got a Grammy, he followed up with my producer to congratulate me. That was very, very special.”
Sharon Osbourne then shared who she was dazzled by during the episode.
“For me, it has to be Elizabeth Taylor,” she said, as Ozzy added: “Oh yeah and Elizabeth Taylor.”
The former host of The Talk, 71, added that meeting her was “amazing.”
They both noted that their encounter with Robin Williams was also special.
“When Sharon was sick with cancer, I felt bad about leaving her just in the house, so I asked Robin Williams if he’d come and see her. Sharon loved him,” the “Paranoid” performer recalled.
Sharon interjected: “Oh I absolutely was so in awe of his talent and his kindness. And he came in and got into bed with me and told jokes for a couple of hours. It wasn’t just like he popped his head around the door ‘hi, how are you doing’ and left. It was a good two hours with me and he was amazing. Made me feel so good. Amazing man.”

Ozzy has spoken about his love of The Beatles over the years.
In a 2020 NME cover story, he recalled that hearing The Beatles sing “She Loves You” made him want to be a musician. “My dad knew I was an avid, f—ing freaked-out Beatles fan,” Ozzy told the outlet. “I loved them. They were the reason why.”
In a 2016 interview with the same publication, the British rocker revealed that he wanted The Beatles’ “A Day in the Life” to be the song that played at his funeral. Though he still seemed to be mulling it over at the time.
“I really need a few more years to think this over, but probably something from ‘Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band’ or ‘Revolver’. I definitely don’t want my f—ing greatest hits album – I never ever play that thing, I’m f—ing embarrassed about it. And I definitely don’t want a f—ing happy song – I’m dead,” Ozzy said.
