Who Is Danny Serafini? Ex MLB Star Arrested for Gruesome Attack on Wife Erin Serafini’s Parents

Former MLB pitcher Danny Serafini found himself in trouble on Friday, October 20 as he was arrested under the charges of attempt to murder. He along with Samantha Scott is suspected of being involved in the murder of Danny’s wife Erin Serafini’s parents. After an investigation of more than two years, the police believe that they have reached the stage of closing the case and justice is being served.

Just a couple of months ago Erin told The San Francisco Chronicle that, “I have no idea who did that to my parents. I wish I knew. I miss my parents tremendously, and I wish they could see my kids grow up”. Without being aware that her own husband could be the one who killed her parents and left her with this pain.

Danny had a successful 7-year-long Baseball career and was a renowned left-handed relief pitcher. He made his debut in 1992 after being picked by the Minnesota Twins. Danny played for numerous teams during his career and consistently tried to uplift his skills. It has also been reported that he was suspended for 50 games because of the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Furthermore, he married Erin in 2011 in Hawaii and allegedly tried to kill her parents a decade later. The deatils about their marriage rea mostly wrapped under a blanket. However, the two made an appearance in the reality show ‘Bar Rescue‘. On the show, they revealed that Danny lost a staggering $14 million after his career was over.

The horrific incident which took the life of Robert Gary Spohr, and left Wendy Wood poorly injured took place in June 2021. Erin’s mother Wendy survived the injuries but died only a year later. The footage of the day that this gruesome attack happened was obtained during the early stage of the investigation.

The Placer County Sheriff’s Department disclosed that the footage revealed “A hooded male wearing a face-covering and a backpack walking to the residence several hours before the homicide occurred”. They also shed light that the team has been tirelessly working to come to a conclusion. The information and evidence led them to convict Danny and Samantha.

Furthermore, they said, “Both suspects are known to each other and to the victims”. Despite both of them being arrested at different places, Danny in Winnemucca, whereas, Samantha in Las Vegas. It is unknown as to how the two met and the reason behind this alleged killing. They are being taken to Placer County where the incident was carried out.

Danny Serafini’s post-retirement period seemed to be going well. His love for baseball made him start Throw Like a Pro Baseball Academy in Sparks, Nevada. Additionally, the Minnesota Twins star is the co-owner of a bar named ‘The Oak Tavern’. The news of Danny being arrested for the alleged murder of his own in-laws is flashing around, and fans await to know more details about it.
