The following article includes mentions of addiction and domestic abuse allegations.

From former Disney starlet to controversial actor-singer, Lindsay Lohan has been making headlines for decades for a multitude of reasons — one being her love life. This multi-talent has been romantically linked to a number of notable people over the years. For example, who could forget her infamous celebrity hook-up list?

That said, Lohan is now happily married to financier Bader Shammas, as of July 2022, with the two having begun dating in 2020 (via People). “I’m a very lucky girl,” she gushed on “Good Morning America” months prior to tying the knot. “And he’s a very lucky man.” Before settling down, however, Lohan’s extensive dating history included the likes of wealthy heirs, musicians, international playboys, and actors. For example, she supposedly dated Greek businessman Stavros Niarchos and the late restaurateur Harry Morton back in 2006, but both remained pretty close-mouthed about it. Unlike many of the folks included in the list below, Shammas has also preferred to keep his relationship with Lohan private, as well as his own personal life — no public Instagram for him! And considering the arguable exploitation of Lohan’s private life throughout her career, from exes and tabloid culture alike, we imagine she has eased into this peaceful marriage with some welcome grace.

However, it seems clear from reading forward that Lindsay Lohan has lived many romantic lives before finding “The One.” Let’s see what the star’s former relationship prospects have to say about her.

Samantha Ronson called their relationship unhealthy

Lindsay Lohan began her highly publicized relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson in 2008. It was initially speculated that they were dating after being seen partying together, but the press was averse to labeling the relationship considering the controversial nature of outing someone, as pointed out by the Los Angeles Times. Being the sister of fashion designer Charlotte Ronson and musician Mark Ronson, Samantha has reportedly never been a fan of the spotlight and opted to keep her relationship with Lohan private.

However, once Lohan made the romance public on the “Loveline” radio show (via Go Mag), paparazzi and the media followed their every move, specifically their alleged arguments and drunken antics, until the on-and-off couple called it quits for good in 2010. When promoting her 2012 album “Chasing the Reds,” Samantha told The Daily Beast, “Nobody acts all tough unless they’re a wuss inside. I’m super sensitive. I get hurt very easily.” She also implied that the lyrics in her song “Sometimes When You Win, You Lose” may have been about her tumultuous past with Lohan. “Most people would assume that it’s figurative, that it’s about emotions. But maybe it’s not. Maybe it’s actually literal,” Samantha said. “It was not a healthy relationship.”

For her part, Lohan admitted to Us Weekly that “two toxic people cannot be together,” but also reflected on the role tabloid fodder played in the split: “I was bold enough to say, ‘Yeah, I like a girl. And?’ That put her in a situation where she was being attacked every day. That’s not fair.”

Aaron Carter shared some tough love with Lindsay Lohan

Former teen heartthrob Aaron Carter shared some seemingly unkind words about his ex, Lindsay Lohan, back in 2010 after she’d run into some legal trouble related to prior drug charges and an alleged DUI (via CNN). In an interview with OK! magazine, the “I Want Candy” singer explained how he, too, had struggled with drug use and non-stop partying to the point where he had to enter rehab, and wished that Lohan would seek help, as well. “It hurts me to see that. I hope she can really learn something from this,” Carter said. “They are going to make an example of you now, Lindsay, and you deserve it.”

He referenced their past relationship as teens, during which he infamously started dating Lohan almost immediately after ending his high-profile romance with another Disney darling, Hilary Duff, per Entertainment Weekly. Noting that Lohan wasn’t the person he once knew, Carter claimed that she changed when she moved to Los Angeles.

However, it’s worth noting that Carter changed his tune a few years later when he said he had nothing but love for Lohan. “She just deals with struggles like we all do. We’re human, you know?” the pop star told Peter Panos. “… It’s important for others to embrace somebody when they’re down — not kick them while they are down. I don’t have any intentions like that. I’ll always be there for her.”

Egor Tarabasov denied his former fiancée’s allegations

In September 2016, Lindsay Lohan claimed her former relationship with Russian entrepreneur Egor Tarabasov was abusive. According to Vanity Fair, she’d connected with Russian media outlet Channel One to explain her side of the story. “I went to bed, and he broke into my house,” Lohan alleged in part of one incident. “He started strangling me. I feared that Egor may splash acid in my face. I jumped out to the balcony and shouted with all my force, ‘He’s trying to kill me, call the police!'”

Tarabasov denied Lohan’s abuse claims and claimed in a statement (via the Daily Mail) that his ex was attempting to defame him. “It has come to my attention that my former fiancée, Lindsay Lohan, is planning a new smear campaign against me in the Russian and international media,” Tarabasov stated in part. “My relationship with Lindsay came to an end in July 2016. In the weeks that followed, there were numerous attempts to discredit my name by inaccurately portraying the nature of our relationship, publishing distorted facts, and making false accusations.”

This story came only two months after the release of a shocking video recorded by a beach goer in Mykonos, in which an argument between the two turned into a physical altercation. For her part, Lohan has since maintained the abuse allegations, even alleging to the Daily Mail of the beach incident that August, “It’s not the first time. That’s the problem. But this time, someone saw.”

Wilmer Valderrama was TMI about Lindsay Lohan

Wilmer Valderrama and Lindsay Lohan allegedly started dating when the former was 24 and the latter was only 17, only confirming their relationship in 2004 after the actor-singer became a legal adult (via Bustle). After their breakup that same year, Lohan performed her song “Over” from her album “Speak” on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” which several fans had, it turns out, correctly believed was written about her latest ex — as the “Mean Girls” star herself later admitted during a 2014 appearance on the daytime talk show. “I was really upset,” Lohan told DeGeneres (via the Daily Mail). “Yeah, and that song I had written, like, the day after and we were still living together. I sang it in his house — tortured him just recording the song so loud in his house.”

While Lohan musically expressed feelings of heartbreak toward her ex, Valderrama was perhaps not quite as sentimental. In 2006, the TV star infamously shared some TMI details about his sex life on “The Howard Stern Show,” mentioning the likes of Mandy Moore and calling attention to Lohan’s private feminine grooming habits. Per Billboard, Moore claimed to Stern in 2018 that Valderrama had lied about taking her virginity. When the shock-jock revealed that the “That ’70s Show” actor had wanted the interview removed, he added, “He felt real bad about it because I guess you weren’t the only one who gave him a call after that interview.”

Meanwhile, Lohan didn’t publicly respond to Valderrama’s comments, but did tell Stern in 2019 (via Us Weekly), “He’s a good guy.”

Matt Nordgren showed support for Lindsay Lohan

Former Philadelphia Eagles player Matt Nordgren and Lindsay Lohan only dated for one week in September 2013 before they reportedly called it quits due to long distance and conflicting schedules, according to sources cited by Us Weekly. Considering the two had actually known each other for a long time prior to temporarily taking their friendship to the next level, the “Most Eligible Dallas” star himself had nothing but kind and respectful words for his ex.

“We’ve hung out,” he explained to Page Six at the time. “But I have been a friend trying to support her for many years now.” Of the journey Lohan had been through in terms of her legal troubles and working toward sobriety, Nordgren added, “She’s completely sober for months now. She’s in a great place, she’s thinking clear and working hard and meeting with all the right people.”

These sentiments came shortly after Lohan’s 90-day rehab stint, a court-ordered move that was made in lieu of jail time after years of excessive drug use and multiple arrests, per CNN. According to Us Weekly, sources close to Nordgren said the pair were still friends after their breakup, and that he wished the best for her future. Talk about a supportive ex-boyfriend!

Lindsay Lohan’s leaked list caused some controversy

So what came of that previously mentioned leaked list of Lindsay Lohan’s alleged celebrity hookups? During a 2014 appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Lohan explained to host Andy Cohen that the list was truly not meant to see the light of day. “That was actually my fifth step in AA at Betty Ford,” she said of her time in treatment. “And someone, when I was moving during the OWN show, must have taken a photo of it. That’s a really personal thing and … it’s really unfortunate.”

The list was first released by In Touch, boasting the names of Ashton Kutcher, Joaquin Phoenix, Justin Timberlake, Zac Efron, and more. Lohan also included exes Wilmer Valderrama and Stavros Niarchos on the list, and while many of the notable names on there didn’t publicly respond to Lohan’s claims, some replied through other means. In fact, when promoting his poetry book “Directing Herbert White” around this time, James Franco claimed to LA Mag that Lohan’s alleged encounter with him was as fictionalized as the two poems he ended up writing about her, as featured in the book. “Lindsay herself has told lies about me with her people-she’s-slept-with list!” he said. “So I feel like what I said is much less than what she’s said.”
