Lindsay Lohan was once a successful child star (her earliest hits include Disney films The Parent Trap and Freaky Friday) who was well on her way to becoming an A-lister. At some point in her young adult life, however, Lohan got into a heap of trouble, being convicted several times and getting called out for unprofessional behavior.

Aside from this, fans also noted that Lohan’s appearance had changed drastically over the years. And although the embattled actress has never confirmed it, many believe it’s because Lohan has had some work done.

When Did Lindsay Lohan’s Face Change?

Back in 2009, Lohan’s world hadn’t completely imploded yet. Around this time, the actress entered a fashion collaboration wherein she would serve as an artistic adviser for Emanuel Ungaro. During a fashion event, Lohan walked the runway after unveiling her first (and only) ready-to-wear collection for the French fashion house.

And while the Lohan-inspired collection drew mixed reactions (many were unimpressed), it was Lohan’s appearance herself that left many in shock. The moment she took to the stage, many noted visible changes to the actress’ lips and cheeks, leading to rumors that Lohan recently underwent plastic surgery. At that time, nobody realized that this was just the beginning.

Not only did Lindsay Lohan start changing her face at a young age, but she was also forced to alter her teeth. Lohan was well known for being a party-girl, and the consequences of that included decaying teeth. The actress was forced to fix her teeth several times due to her drug problem, but thankfully they have been looking pristine since 2018.

Experts Have Weighed In On Lohan’s Plastic Surgery

The debate over Lohan’s changing appearance has been the subject of many debates over the years. And although she has never admitted to going under the knife, several medical experts think otherwise. For starters, Adam Schaffner, M.D., F.A.C.S., a triple board-certified plastic surgeon in New York, told RadarOnline.com, “Her youthful appearing cheeks may be due, in part, to the use of fillers such as Restylane or Juvederm (VOLUMA). Her lack of wrinkles may be due, i [sic] part, to the use of BOTOX, Dysport or XEOMIN.”

Aside from Dr. Schaffner, Dr. Tim Sayed, who is a double board-certified plastic surgeon in Southern California, is also of the same opinion, noting that there is a “drastic difference in her photos in comparison.” “This can be a result of laser skin treatments, great skincare products, and a consistent skincare regiment,” he also pointed out. “But the changes are not likely the result of good skincare treatment alone.”

At the same time, another unnamed surgeon at the MYA Cosmetic Surgery in U.K. also believes that Lohan has had “non-surgical treatment of dermal fillers to her cheeks.” The procedure essentially “gives volume to the cheek area” for more defined cheek bones. However, there seems to be evidence of “overfilling” in Lohan’s case in the past. As celebrity plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn also told RadarOnline.com, it appears that Lohan had “a classic over-plumped pillow face.” “Her cheeks look like she’s storing nuts for the winter,” he further remarked. “I suspect that she’s undergone multiple injections of filler like Sculptra or Restylane.” The surgeon also explained that when procedures like this are overdone, a patient can “look like a Cabbage Patch Doll.”

Fortunately, it appears that this has since been corrected. “Lindsay has definitely been guilty of this in the past and although in recent years she seems to have opted for a more natural look,” the surgeon observed. At the same time, Dr. Sayed noted, “Throughout the years the fullness of her cheeks has fluctuated, most likely due to dietary changes and not just the amount of filler injected.”

Another point of concern when it comes Lohan and fillers is the actress’ (supposed) tendency to have them done on her lips. It looked fine, at first. But having them done continuously didn’t seem to be a good idea. “A few years ago, I believe she may have had some of the filler dissolved in the form of revision treatment, in order to create a fuller lip when smiling – but with a more natural shape and proportion,” the surgeon explained. “However, recent images suggest she has since had multiple treatments to plump her lips, that create a more unnatural look, where the cupid’s bow of the upper lip disappears.”

Aside from fillers and botox, some also believe that Lohan had work done on her nose, essentially undergoing rhinoplasty. “Lindsay’s nose appears to be much slimmer than in her early appearances, with a natural slope and point,” the surgeon pointed out. “This could indicate that she has undergone a rhinoplasty procedure to achieve this shape.”

Over the years, Lohan has never admitted to going under the knife. That said, she has revealed some of her beauty secrets, specifically how she maintains her daily glow. “I moisturize with La Mer (the very same brand that Dwayne Johnson is known to use regularly too), or I’ll go lighter and use Avéne Hydrance Optimale Light Hydrating Cream,” the actress told Into the Gloss. “If I don’t use La Mer, then I use Carol Joy Forevermore Serum. It’s pricey, but it’s really good. They use this golden millet oil in their products and I’m really big on that—it just feels so nice on the skin.”

Aside from this, Lohan is also a big believer in using daily sun protection. And to keep stress lines from appearing on her face, the actress turns to Naam yoga.
