Lohan reunited for a brief “Freaky Friday” reunion, two decades after they infamously swapped roles in the movie.
People said that on Friday, Curtis, 64, shared a picture of herself and Lohan, 37, on Instagram, hinting at a potential follow-up in the “near future.”
Far too late. Writer Curtis, who won her first Academy Award for best supporting actress in “Everything Everywhere All at Once,” added, “YOU GREW UP and SO BEAUTIFULLY.” “Well, the strike is over and it’s Friday, so maybe we can trade places again soon!”
A follow-up to the 2003 Disney comedy adaptation was “for sure” in the works, according to Curtis, who told Entertainment Weekly in July that the strikes by writers and performers had caused a delay.
Now that those two labor issues have been resolved, a sequel may proceed.
As stated by CNN, the 2003 movie is a remake of the Disney picture from 1976, which featured Barbara Harris as Curtis and Jodie Foster as Lohan. It was based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 book “Freaky Friday.”
Lindsay Lohan and Amanda Seyfried return for the Walmart Black Friday commercial in the “Mean Girls” revival.
Lohan and Curtis both expressed interest in doing a follow-up in a joint interview with The New York Times in May 2023.
Lohan told the publication, “Jamie and I are both open to that, so we’re leaving it in the hands that be.” “We would only produce items that people would genuinely love.”
