Lindsay Lohan Claims Her Interview With Oprah Was Life-Changing
For Lindsay Lohan, her time alongside Oprah was not a publicity stunt or a way to make a few million. Instead, according to Lohan, the interview ended up changing her life, and it also created a lifelong friendship with Oprah.
Speaking alongside Oprah Daily, Lohan revealed the interview gave her an entirely different perspective.
“I think Oprah really gave me a different perspective on life and that really changed me,” Lohan told Bennett. “I was just tired of taking care of everyone and being present for everyone. I just wanted to be there for myself and be okay with being alone. We forget that it’s okay to be alone.”
Following the interview, Lohan and Oprah grew close to one another, with Lohan also texting the host on the regular.
“I talk to her,” Lohan recently told The Hollywood Reporter. “I actually invited Oprah to come to the beach club next summer, so let’s see if she bites. I would love to have her come and see it. It would really mean a lot to me.”
Although the two grew close to one another after the interview, things did not start off on the best of terms.
Oprah Almost Walked Out Of The Interview After Lindsay Lohan Refused To Meet Her Schedule Requirement
It was a major deal for both Oprah and Lohan. At the time, Oprah was launching the new series, with Lohan as for first guest. As for Lohan, it was a chance to rehab her image and get better, while also landing a huge pay of $2 million.
However, early on, Oprah learned things weren’t going to be as smooth.
“This is just what everyone warned me would happen (working with her). And it is.”
Oprah continued, “My truth is, I really do want you to win, but if that isn’t what you want, I’m okay with that. I will tell these guys to pack up and leave today.”
The conflict took place after Lohan refused to follow her schedule with the show, while disrespecting Oprah’s crew.
Refusing to make things worse, Lohan wanted to stay and make things better.
“There’s nothing left in having a drink for me. There’s no party I haven’t gone to, nobody I haven’t hung out with, no situation I haven’t been exposed to,” Lohan said.
Ultimately, Lohan stuck around, and it was for the best. Nowadays, she’s making a return to Netflix for the Christmas special, Falling for Christmas.
The Fan Reaction Over The Oprah And Lindsay Lohan Interview Was Mixed
The most liked comment on YouTube towards the interview reads, “There’s an unmistakable air of sorrow around Lindsay Lohan and one I can’t help but feel empathy towards.”
Another fan credited Oprah, writing, “I need an Oprah in my life. I’m as shaky as a leaf stuck to a twig on a cold autumn day. Foundation’s weak. Maybe that’s where Lindsay’s coming from; she has a really hard time with self control, because the willpower just isn’t there.”
Other fans weren’t as positive, making mention that the interview should not have taken place and instead, Lohan needed help without the cameras in her face.
