Randle spoke to reporters on Wednesday about the status of his non-shooting shoulder injury.
He did share that he’s feeling “better and stronger” with the intentions of coming back to play before the season ends.
However, Randle also admitted more than once that there’s a chance he receives surgery on his shoulder.
“I mean, we’ll see. There’s still necessary steps. It’s a process to everything. I have to weigh out everything ultimately and decide from there,” Randle said, via the New York Post.
“But right now I’m just focused on trying to avoid [surgery], obviously, and get back on the court as soon as I can.”
Randle also revealed that he’s “heard many different opinions” from doctors but that, as of Wednesday, he’s been “feeling stronger” and “progressing to where I need to be, as far as getting on the court.”
Prior to the injury, Randle was averaging 24.0 points and 9.2 rebounds.
He was selected to the NBA All-Star team for the third time in four seasons.
Randle and the Knicks were 15-2 after the team traded for shooting guard OG Anunoby.
But he has also been sidelined since January 27 due to an elbow injury.

New York lost five of their last six games before the All-Star and will need Jalen Brunson to continue to lead the injury-riddled team.
The point guard averages 27.6 points per game along with 6.5 assists and made the All-Star team.
Brunson and the No. 4 seed 33-22 Knicks will play against the No. 5 seed 32-22 Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday night.
