Gwyneth Paltrow insists she has no reservations about leaving the spotlight for good.

The Oscar winner, 51, has already stepped away from acting — her last major film was 2019’s Avengers: Endgame — and now she’s looking to sail off into the sunset without looking back.

‘I will literally disappear from public life,’ the stunning star said about her future retirement plans to Bustle. ‘No one will ever see me again.’

She echoed the sentiment later in the interview when asked if she would attempt to teach others how to age gracefully.

‘I’ll probably try, knowing myself. Or I might be like, “F*** this.” I might just disappear, and no one will ever see me again’.

Gwyneth Paltrow gives ‘Simply The Best’ advice for Bustle

For now, Gwyneth is focused on her wellness brand Goop, founded in 2008, but there’s an expiration date on it as well, as she hopes to sell the company in ‘a few more years’.

She said she will then turn her attention to more domestic issues, as she freely admits the work/life balancing act isn’t always easy.
‘I’m in a phase where I feel like things are just extra, extra messy because I have so much to do,’ she explained.

‘My son and stepson are both seniors in high school, and sometimes I feel like the college process is a full-time job in and of itself,’ she continued, referencing her son Moses, 17, whom she shares with her ex Chris Martin and her stepson Brody, 17, whom she shares with her husband Brad Falchuk.

Gwyneth also shares daughter Apple, 19, with Chris and stepdaughter Isabella with Brad.

‘So I’m trying to keep the domestic stuff on track, and we have a lot going on at the company… So I’m just f***ing up,’ she revealed.

‘I should say I’m trying to learn to be more tolerant with myself when I make messes, because I really don’t like it. It’s just one of those seasons.

‘It’s like this fulcrum of life. I thought in my 50s I could downshift for some reason. I don’t really know why I thought that would happen.’

Gwyneth Paltrow gushes about her love for Dakota Johnson

Gwyneth is no stranger to saying goodbye, as she left the acting world after being featured in some of the biggest box office hits, including The Talented Mr. Ripley, Emma, Great Expectations, and the Iron Man franchise.

And she has no regrets about it, once famously saying she ‘doesn’t daydream about the movie business at all’.

In the 2020 interview with SiriusXM’s Bruce Bozzi on Quarantined with Bruce, the actress also discussed the point she stepped away from acting.

‘I think that when you hit the bullseye, when you’re 26 years old and you’re a metrics driven person who, frankly, doesn’t love acting that much as it turns out,’ she began, referencing her 1998 Oscar win. ‘I sort of felt like, well, now who am I supposed to be? Like, what am I, what am I driving towards?’

She continued, ‘Part of the shine of acting wore off, you know, being in such intense public scrutiny, being a kid who’s like living every breakup on every headline, like being criticized for everything you do, say and wear.’

‘Like I’m such a homebody, you know, me, I like to be with my old friends and cook and squeeze my kids. Like I don’t want to be alone in a hotel room in Budapest for six weeks,’ she said. ‘Like, it’s just not who I am.’

It’s obvious Gwyneth doesn’t take herself — or shunning Hollywood — too seriously.

In fact, just last week, she joked about where she keeps her Best Actress Oscar, which she won for Shakespeare in Love.

‘My doorstop. It works perfectly!’ she revealed in Vogue’s 73 Questions.
