Redick quickly acclimated to the First Take mindset and went after new Bucks head coach Doc Rivers for his coaching.
“I’ve seen the trend for years. The trend is always making excuses. Doc, we get it. Taking over a team in the middle of a season is hard,” Redick said.
“It’s hard, we get it. Just like getting traded in the middle of the season is hard for a player.
“We get it. But it’s always an excuse. It’s always throwing your team under the bus.”
Redick used multiple examples to back up his attack on Rivers. He pointed out comments Rivers made about the team and his relations with other teams.
“They lose to Memphis. Oh, it’s his players’ fault — Memphis was playing G-League guys and two-way guys,” Redick said.
“And then you look at his quotes over the weekend and now he wants to take credit for the James Harden trade to the Clippers working out? He wants credit for that?
“There’s just never accountability with that guy. There’s never accountability.”
Stephen A. Smith was so blown away with what Redick was saying that he had to ask him if he was being serious or not.
“You can take it serious,” Redick said.

Outside of his 15 years of experience in the NBA, Redick is as qualified as anyone to speak about Rivers as he played for him for four seasons.
Redick also worked with him at ESPN and is taking over Rivers’ role as an analyst with Mike Breen and Doris Burke on the network’s top broadcast team.
The rest of the NBA should be on alert for the remainder of the season, as it looks like Redick is going gloves off with his comments on the league.
