Tiger Woods WITB 2023: Everything to Know About Mr T’s Hero World Challenge Gear

The biggest news in golf this week is Tiger Woods‘ return to the competitive fold. He would be back at the Hero World Challenge, an event that is hosted by the legend himself. The tournament will be played at the Albany Golf Club in The Bahamas from November 30 to December 3, 2023.

The 15-time Major winner hasn’t played in any tournament since the Masters, when he had to quit mid-way due to an injury. Several months and a successful ankle surgery later, Woods is ready to go again on the greens. But what would be his golfing essentials at the tournament?

Dive deep into the bag of Tiger Woods

After joining TaylorMade six years ago, Woods collaborated with their engineering team to design his equipment. He uses a TaylorMade Stealth Plus driver with nine degrees loft. The shaft fitted to it is Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 60 TX. The complete set is available in the market for around $1,200.

The legendary golfer’s 3-wood is TaylorMade SIM Ti, with 15 degrees loft. It has a Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Limited 70 TX shaft. His 5 wood is TaylorMade M3, with 18.25 degrees loft. The shaft here is Mitsubishi Diamana D+ Whiteboard 80TX. A normal TaylorMade SIM Ti is available at around $150, while a normal TaylorMade M3 can be bought for $202.

Moving on to the irons, specially designed by the great man himself, he plays TaylorMade P770 (3), with 19.5 degrees loft and TaylorMade P7 TW (4-PW). Both are fitted with True Temper Dynamic Gold Tour Issue X100 shafts. A normal TaylorMade P770 3 iron can be bought for $174.99, but the Tiger Woods edition will cost $1,299.99. The Tiger Woods edition of P7 TW is priced at $1,999.99.

Woods uses TaylorMade Milled Grind ‘Tiger MT Grind’ wedges with 60 degrees loft. True Temper Dynamic Gold Issue S400 shafts are fitted to it. A normal piece of this is priced around $200.

Starting afresh

The 47-year-old, who has 82 PGA Tour wins in his bag, uses Titleist Scotty Cameron GSS Newport 2 putter, available in the market for $449. He plays the Bridgestone Tour B X ball, priced at $44.99.

Tiger Woods’ return to golf after surviving a near-fatal car accident in 2021 is a triumph of medical science. He, however, has played only five PGA Tour events in the last two years. But by his own admission, Woods is now fighting fit. Since it is his comeback, he obviously would be the top attraction at the Hero World Challenge 2023, a tournament he has won five times earlier. Are you excited to see Tiger Woods on the course again?
