Lewis Hamilton welcomed the Brazilian court’s decision to fine Nelson Piquet

Although Lewis Hamilton did not directly sue Nelson Piquet, the Brazilian court still fined him nearly 1 million USD for racial discrimination against him.

The Brazilian court in particular and the Brazilian government in general decided to take this case seriously, perhaps because Hamilton was granted honorary citizenship by the Brazilian parliament late last year. But whatever the reason, this decision of the Brazilian court is very welcome. Currently in Australia, Hamilton said:

‘As soon as that incident happened, I expressed my opinion. I still believe that we should not tolerate people with racist attitudes.’

‘I want to thank the Brazilian Government. I think it was the correct decision. We must hold them (racists) accountable. We must show everyone that such behavior will not be tolerated.’

Hamilton also sees this as an example for other countries to follow…

‘I hope Governments elsewhere will do the same. As we all have seen what is happening in Uganda and countries in Africa and the Middle East. There are many things we can learn from this incident.’

Surely everyone knows that Hamilton now not only fights for equal rights for people of color (racism), he also calls for equal rights for women, gay people and even… animals. .

In recent years, Hamilton has become ‘uncomfortable’ every time he goes to Middle Eastern countries (such as Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar) to compete because these countries still limit women’s rights and completely ban gay people. .

Reporters also asked Hamilton why he broke up with therapist Angela Cullen. The Mercedes team driver just replied the same as what he wrote on his personal page: ‘Cullen wants to pursue his own life’:

‘We will always be present in each other’s lives.’

‘I really like her. Our relationship is probably one of the closest in the sport.’

‘Now Angela really lives her life. She has many ideas she wants to implement. We still chat with each other regularly. We had plans to go skydiving together.’
