Kevin Durant made NBA history during Tuesday’s game.

On Tuesday evening, the Phoenix Suns were in Oregon facing off against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The game was close, but the Suns lost by a score of 109-104 (they lost the third quarter by 18 points).

Kevin Durant, who finished the game with 40 points, four rebounds, five assists and two steals while shooting 16/28 from the field and 1/3 from the three-point range, made NBA history during the game.

Durant moved ahead of Moses Malone (9,435) for 20th on the all-time field goals made list.

Following Malone, the next player for Durant to pass will be Oscar Robertson (9,508).

Durant is now averaging 31.0 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.6 assists and 1.1 blocks per contest while shooting 51.8% from the field and 46.7% from the three-point range in 23 games.

With the loss, the Suns fell to 14-13 in their first 27 games, which has them as the tenth seed in the Western Conference.

They are 3-7 over their last ten games and will now visit the Sacramento Kings on Thursday evening in California.

Durant was the second pick in the 2007 NBA Draft out of Texas and is in his 16th season playing in the league.

In addition to the Suns, the 2014 MVP has also spent time with the Brooklyn Nets, Golden State Warriors and Oklahoma City Thunder.

His career averages are 27.3 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.1 blocks per contest.
