Kevin Durant has lots of praise for the NBA’s new basketball giant

Suns basketball star Kevin Durant showed interest in young talent Victor Wembanyama.

Kevin Durant is in the midst of his 16th NBA season. He played against and against some of the greatest players in league history, including future Hall of Famers like Stephen Curry and LeBron James.

But even a world-class star like Durant has never met anyone quite like the French phenomenon – Victor Wembanyama of the San Antonio Spurs.

Durant and the Suns faced Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs twice this week, giving basketball fans dramatic performances. The 2m24 young striker left with two victories. Most recently, he scored 38 points in the Spurs’ 132-121 victory over the Suns on November 3.

During a Hooper Vision broadcast, Quentin Richardson and Dorell Wright spoke to Durant about Wembanyama’s incredible potential. Richardson introduced the topic by asking Durant about the rare experience of having to defend a player with a height of 2m24.

“When he made the jump shot, I thought there was no way I could reach that. So I had to play hard and compete, man, because either you’re going to foul him, or Victor’s going to make the shot. If he fails, it’s all his fault.”, Kevin Durant shared.

Durant also praised Wembanyama for his defensive versatility, saying he respects the 19-year-old’s “competitive nature.”

“He always tries to lower his center of gravity when defending me. You try to create space by breaking your opponent’s momentum. But he still quickly regained his balance. This guy is going to be a big deal in the NBA.”

Victor Wembanyama has only played 5 games in the regular season in the NBA, but he has already set historical milestones for himself. The 19-year-old center is the first player since Shaquille O’Neal to total 100 points and 10 blocks in the first 5 games of his career, according to ESPN statistics. He also joins Durant and James as the “best” players. only teen” in NBA history to record at least 35 points, 10 rebounds and 2 blocks in a game.

Although Durant admitted that Wembanyama may experience increased intensity in his first season as the coaches come up with a plan to stop him. However, he still believes that the young Spurs star will be able to handle the inherently stressful intensity of playing in the NBA.
