Phoenix Suns All-Star Kevin Durant is already used to fans comparing him to LeBron James on social media. But every now and then, he finds himself needing to respond to some takes on it.
One such instance came following the Suns’ 127-109 victory over the LA Lakers, where Durant helped limit James to just 10 points on a dismal 3-of-11 shooting (27.3%).
A fan moved to highlight it on social media, garnering various reactions, including one who took a dig at ‘KD,’ saying that he is still nowhere near what James has done in his career while downplaying the 10 points that ‘The King’ was limited to last time around.
Kevin Durant, who is active on social media, responded to it, referring to the fan as being “jilted’ while alluding to when he left the OKC Thunder on July 4, 2016, to join the Golden State Warriors, where he eventually won his two NBA titles.
Check out their exchange below:

In their game against the Lakers, Durant and the Suns made it tough for their opponents to make headway.
James and fellow All-Star Anthony Davis combined for only 23 points, considerably below their season average of 50 points per game. As a result, they fell deep right from the opening quarter and just could not recover from there.
The victory stopped a two-game slide for Phoenix (20-18), which is eighth in the Western Conference.
Kevin Durant joined the Warriors on July 4, 2016
The date of July 4, 2016 has been noteworthy in NBA superstar Kevin Durant’s career. It was at this point that he chose to leave the Oklahoma City Thunder and join up with Steph Curry in Gloden State.
The move reaped tons of dividends for the 13-time NBA All-Star, who won back-to-back titles with the Warriors in 2017 and 2018. On both occasions, he won the NBA Finals MVP to fortify his standing as a legend of the game.
However, it also gained him a lot of flak from purists and fans, who viewed his transfer as taking the easy route to championship glory.
Before joining the Warriors, Kevin Durant spent nine years playing for the Thunder (formerly Seattle Supersonics), where he made it to his first NBA Finals in 2012 and won a league MVP award in 2014.
In his final year at OKC, they lost in the Western Conference finals to the Warriors in seven games, which made his transfer to Golden State the following season more stinging to many.
After winning back-to-back titles and playing for one more year with the Warriors, Durant moved to the Brooklyn Nets for three years. He eventually landed in Phoenix last season.
