The microphone that female rapper Cardi B used to… throw at the audience is being auctioned for charity purposes. The price paid for the microphone is at 99,900 USD (more than 2.3 billion VND).
At a concert in Las Vegas, USA, American rapper Cardi B (30 years old) threw a microphone at an audience member who threw water at her. The incident caused Cardi B to be investigated by local police for alleged assault.
Immediately after the incident, the unit providing sound equipment for the show auctioned off the microphone on an online auction site. Currently, there have been more than 120 bids made, pushing the price for the microphone up to 99,900 USD (equivalent to more than 2.3 billion VND).

The owner of the audio equipment supply company – Mr. Scott Fisher – introduced the microphone up for auction: “We provide many equipment for the show, not just this one microphone. Mr. Scott Fisher said he “wanted to do something good” after the scandal that happened. He will donate the proceeds from the auction of the microphone to two charities specializing in helping veterans and people in particularly difficult circumstances.
After throwing a microphone into the audience, Cardi B was investigated by Las Vegas police for alleged assault. The woman whose microphone was thrown by Cardi B went to report the incident to local authorities.
Notably, before throwing the microphone at the female audience, rapper Cardi B encouraged the audience to throw water on her to help her feel less hot.
Most recently, Las Vegas police representatives informed the media that the investigation was closed and the assault charge against rapper Cardi B was dropped.
The police said: “After a thorough review of the incident, we decided to close this case, because there is not enough evidence to reach a conclusion.” Immediately after the police statement, Cardi B’s lawyer expressed appreciation for the “positive and quick” way the Las Vegas police handled the incident.
Cardi B is a famous rapper in American showbiz. She was once rated by Forbes magazine (USA) as one of the most influential female rappers in the international music industry. In 2018, Time magazine (USA) included Cardi B in its annual list of the 100 most influential people in the world. In 2020, Billboard magazine (USA) honored Cardi B as Woman of the Year.
