Beyoncé revealed that Blue Ivy used criticism of her Renaissance World Tour performance as inspiration

The singer discussed her thoughts on her daughter performing with her on stage during her Renaissance World Tour in a new performance video.

Even after the 11-year-old joined her onstage for many of her Renaissance World Tour venues this summer, Beyoncé claimed in her most recent performance video that online criticism of her dancing had an impact on her daughter.

The 42-year-old singer of “Love on Top” said that after her first unexpected onstage debut in Paris in May, Blue Ivy received unfavorable feedback on her dancing.

She said that Blue Ivy, whom she shares with Jay-Z, was committed to improving her dance even further in order to dispel any doubters.

Beyoncé also said that she wasn’t too excited about the idea of her kid performing with her on stage.

Blue Ivy was not exactly delighted with the arrangement when it was first proposed that she would only make one on-stage appearance. In the movie, she said that an 11-year-old should never perform in front of thousands of people.

When her daughter joined her on stage for the first time, Beyoncé said she almost passed out.

According to The New York Times, Beyoncé remembered the early talks, saying, “She told me she was ready to perform, and I told her no.”

Fans were not blind to Blue Ivy’s progress over the course of the few months that she spent touring with her pop star mother. A compilation on TikTok in September contrasted her dancing at her first concert, when she seemed hesitant with the motions, with how assured she looked during a subsequent event in Houston.

One viewer said on the video, “Watching her confidence grow throughout this tour has been such a treat.”

“I’ve been so thrilled to see her confidence build during the trip! She’s come a long way🥹🥲,” said another admirer.

Tina Knowles-Lawson, Blue Ivy’s grandmother, told PEOPLE in July that her grandchild’s self-confidence has grown “to the sky” since her first performance.

Knowles-Lawson, 69, said, “She is 11 years old, and she had one week to prepare, and she’s just getting better and better.” “So I’m the proud grandma, always.”

This is a heels family, she jokingly said. Blue Ivy is enjoying the time of her life, and I couldn’t be more proud of her since she really worked hard, the speaker said, before continuing, “You’re trained early to walk in heels.”

JAY-Z, 53, is also beaming with joy. “I still get goosebumps seeing her walk onstage,” he said to Gayle King on CBS Mornings last month.

“She didn’t ask to be born into this existence. Thus, from the moment of her birth, she has been under constant observation and public view, with everyone having an opinion on how even a young child should style her hair,” he stated. “So for her to be on that stage and reclaim her power, and the song is called ‘My Power,’ you can’t write a better script.”
