Jason Kelce identified a new summer treat that he can’t wait to try. Above, Kelce looks on during the game between the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles on November 26, 2023 at Lincoln Financial Field.

The new McDonald’s menu item is available now for a limited time.

A new summer treat available at one popular fast food location has caught Jason Kelce’s attention.

The former NFL star flagged the new menu item on X (formerly Twitter) on Thursday, July 11. Kelce, who has previously spoken about his visits to McDonald’s on his New Heights podcast, appeared excited about the new McFlurry flavor, which the fast food chain has made available at participating locations “for a limited time.”

The treat’s official name is the Kit Kat Banana Split McFlurry. A description of the menu item on the McDonald’s website describes the McFlurry as having “strawberry and banana flavors with KIT KAT® chocolate pieces blended in creamy vanilla soft serve.”

On X, Kelce shared a fellow X user’s tweet about the new treat and added his own commentary. “There is a zero percent chance I’m not trying this,” the former Philadelphia Eagles center declared.

Kelce wasn’t alone in his excitement to test out the new McFlurry flavor. When food blogger Snackolator first previewed the item on Instagram late last week, McDonald’s fans in America were thrilled to learn that the new McFlurry was coming to the U.S., as opposed to many recent releases that have only been available overseas.

“Thought it was another outside of US mcflurry at first.. but lets goooo!” one person commented on Snackolator’s July 6 Instagram preview.

“WHAT?! US?? It’s a miracle ,” another fan wrote.

“Strawberry Banana, and Kit Kat sounds great!,” one Instagram user cheered.

Despite the excitement, many McDonald’s customers expressed concern about the McFlurry’s need for the fast food chain’s ice cream machines to be in working order.

“I hope the ice cream machine works,” one fan wrote as another person wondered, “What’s the point of a new ice cream flavor when the ice cream machine almost never works.”

Some X users who commented on Kelce’s tweet also worried about the machines.

“Better start now hunting up a McD’s with a working ice cream machine,” one person advised as another predicted, “too bad the ice cream machine is probably down though.”
