Taylor Swift has NOT been told to stay away from Chiefs Super Bowl parade, says Kansas City mayor – but will the singer make it with an Eras show in Melbourne on Friday?
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas has refuted a report that Taylor Swift might have been asked to stay away from the Chiefs’ Super Bowl parade on Wednesday.
Citing reporting from KCUR, the New York Post published a story that said City Manager Brian Platt had ‘hinted’ that the city could not handle the fanfare that she would bring if she chose to be there in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce
‘I can’t confirm or deny but we might have already told that to her team, just to keep everybody safe and make things a little bit easier for us,’ Platt said, according to KCUR.
However, Mayor Lucas has shot down that notion, emphatically calling it ‘not true at all’ in response to the Post’s X account.
‘Just had a great chat with @kcpolice Chief Graves. We’re enchanted to welcome everyone to tomorrow’s parade and the women and men of our police department are prepared to keep all safe,’ Mayor Lucas wrote.

It remains unclear whether or not Swift will attend the parade as she’s set to begin a new leg of her Eras Tour on Friday in Melbourne.
She’ll play three shows there and another four in Sydney before jetting off to Singapore.
Swift was out late celebrating with Kelce and his Chiefs teammates after Kansas City beat the 49ers 25-22.
The couple were seen sharing a kiss at the victory party while her hit ‘Love Story’ played in the background, while Kelce also popped up in the DJ booth.
The three-time Super Bowl winner grabbed the mic and shouted, ‘Let’s go Chiefs’, while bopping his head.
He continued his MC-type role as he revved the crowd up, at one point leading them in a chant of ‘Na, na, na, na, hey, hey, goodbye!’ Although it’s unclear who this was directed at.
Kelce and Swift continued the celebrations until dawn, eating chicken fingers and fries in the VIP section until 5:15am.

With Swift watching on, the Super Bowl had an average of 123.4million viewers on Sunday night, the most watched telecast in history and the second-most watched US broadcast event behind the Apollo 11 moon landing.
The previous record belonged to last year’s Super Bowl, which drew 115.1million average viewers.
CBS Sports announced the astonishing figures less than 24 hours after the Kansas City Chiefs lifted the Lombardi Trophy.
On CBS itself, 120million people watched the game, the largest audience in history for a single network.
Incredibly, more than 200million viewers watched at least part of the Super Bowl across all networks and streams that were broadcasting the game,.
