The USA Team delivered what was expected from them in the pre-Olympics exhibition game against Canada. Though that was more friendly, not everyone could take it positively. Following the 86-72 victory, all eyes were on Devin Booker as he gave a post-game interview until Canadian swingman Dillon Brooks intentionally walked in front of him.

Brooks potentially tried to instigate Booker by his actions while he had the option of going from behind, which wouldn’t have cut off the Suns’ star. Nevertheless, the guard handled the situation well by not reacting and continuing his discussion.

Conversely, when the video reached the basketball fans on social media, they couldn’t hold back their emotions like Booker. Some lashed out at Brooks on X (FKA Twitter), while others found his actions hilarious. Here’s what the fans said in Hoop Central’s comment section:

“Why does bro always think he’s the main character”, asked one of the fans.

“Brooks is such a troll”, added another.

Disappointed with Brooks behavior with Booker, a fan wrote, “yea dudes annoying like it’s not even funny anymore”.

Whereas another stated, “he refuses to end this gimmick man but it’s funny”.

Seconding the opinion, someone wrote, “He’s so funny idc what anyone says”.

One of the users commented, “hahaha I love how absolutely nobody has respect for Booker.”

Brooks’ lack of respect towards Booker doesn’t change the fact that the 27-year-old made a good effort in their first game.

Devin Booker’s Performance in USA Colors

While Kevin Durant and Jayson Tatum shockingly failed to make it onto the team, Booker was selected in the starting lineup. With Curry, LeBron, Holiday and Embiid, Booker led the USA Team to their first victory ahead of the Paris Olympics this year.

Playing for 20 minutes on Wednesday, Booker scored 9 points. He attempted 6 shots from the floor, missing only two. He impressed the crowd with his remarkable off-ball handling.

The USA Team was sloppy in the opening quarter, but they picked up the pace in the following quarters, establishing their dominance. Booker might be able to show his true potential with his teammate Durant because of their strong connection.
