Bronny James, the son of LeBron James, was selected as the 55th pick in the second round of the 2024 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Lakers. Since being chosen, The 19-year-old has received both praise and criticism from NBA commentators and fans.

However, despite high expectations, his professional career did not begin strongly. James and the Lakers started the 2024 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas with a loss to the Houston Rockets, with a final score of 99-80. In the game at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas, James recorded eight points, five rebounds, and two steals despite the team’s loss. James was approached about a possible assignment in the G League for the 2024-25 season.

James has no objections to playing in the NBA’s G League, where he would have considerably more opportunities to play than in the NBA, where he is expected to be a reliable reserve.

“I’m just looking forward to any basketball I play – no matter what level I’m playing at,” James said via Dave McMenamin of ESPN

Kanter Freedom Throws Shade at Bronny James’ NBA Skills

Following his selection by the Lakers, Bronny James faced constant criticism from NBA players, analysts, and fans. Many fans labeled Bronny’s selection as nepotism. Enes Kanter Freedom also expressed a similar viewpoint towards James. In a recent interview with OutKick’s “Don’t @ Me,” Kanter Freedom stated that James is not good enough to play in the NBA.

“He might be a good dude, but he’s not good enough to play in the NBA. The reason he got drafted is because of LeBron, the reason JJ Redick is the coach is because of LeBron,” Kanter Freedom said.

King James’ son has just begun his career, and it will be exciting to see the 19-year-old guard’s upcoming games.
