Princess Kate and Prince William’s three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis supported their mother throughout her cancer battle in 2024
As 2024 comes to a close, it’s clear that Prince William and Kate Middleton have faced one of their toughest years yet, particularly with King Charles and Kate receiving cancer diagnoses just months apart. This undoubtedly affected their three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis, but the young royals proved to be a vital source of comfort and support for their mother during her chemotherapy and recovery.
Now that Kate has completed her treatment, 2025 promises a return to normalcy for the family. According to royal expert Ingrid Seward, William and Kate may “spoil” their children in recognition of their resilience during a challenging year.
Seward told Hello!: “Kate will be wanting to spoil them a bit, because it’s very frightening for children when their parents are that ill, so I think they will be up for a few treats this year. I think William and Kate might take the children skiing during the Easter holidays and will probably be planning a big summer holiday, because as far as we know they didn’t go anywhere last year.”
The author, who also wrote the book Royal Children, examining royal youngsters through the ages, added: “Like many famous parents, they are cautious about exposing the children to too much scrutiny in this digital age. They know they must produce the children at certain times, but I think they very much keep them under wraps the rest of the time,” reports the Mirror.
Describing their life as “far more ordinary” than their predecessors, thanks to William and Kate’s decision to take a more hands-on role with parenting without the use of nannies and staff, Ingrid highlighted how the children all get along well together due to their close ages and have been “bound by the situation they’re in and they’re all in it together.”
While no official word has been given on what 2025 looks like for Princess Kate, her recent high-profile appearance at her Christmas Carol concert: Together at Christmas, is a positive sign for what lies ahead. After her diagnosis of an undisclosed form of cancer at the start of 2024, Princess Kate stepped back from royal duties to focus on her treatment, which kept her away from the public spotlight for several months.
However, she did continue to make a handful of appearances at engagements throughout the summer including Trooping the Colour and a Wimbledon appearance – a positive sign for fans.
The Princess of Wales made a significant appearance at a carol concert in December, marking her first major public event since announcing the end of her treatment. This was followed by her participation in the annual Sandringham walk to church on Christmas Day, signaling a hopeful return to normalcy.
