MEGHAN Markle sent her fans into a frenzy after sharing her first social media post in years in a “controversial re-branding” move, an expert told The Sun.

The bizarre footage, which was uploaded on Instagram out of the blue, sees the Duchess of Sussex, 43, running towards the sea on a large beach.

A body language expert spoke to The Sun about the possible meaning behind the clip – and why the footage may actually be considered ”controversial”.

In the clip, the mum-of-two slows down to a walk before bending down to write “2025” in the sand with her finger – in celebration of the New Year.

Meghan then runs back towards the camera full of smiles, dressed in all white.

The video could have been filmed by husband Prince Harry, 40, in Montecito, California, near the pair’s 12million mansion.

Body language expert Judi James said Meghan’s ”catch me if you can behavior” is ”all about signalling freedom and maybe even new horizons, with that pulsating sea stretching out into the background”.

The overall mood, Judi added, ”suggests Meghan pre-marriage, maybe in the early days of her romance with Harry when she might have seen herself as a free spirit, uncrushed on the wheel of royalty”.

Chatting exclusively to Fabulous, the expert pointed out that Meghan posting online after a long break and their views on platforms like Instagram and X – formerly known as Twitter – was ”controversial”.

”With Meghan and Harry’s opinions on social media this looks like a controversial choice of re-brand, with this rather ‘open’ appeal to the camera, i.e. all casually dressed in white with the wind rippling through her hair.

”It seems to re-kindle a more personal relationship with the public although presumably one that Meghan now feels is controllable.

”But it presumably suggests some more direct marketing for the brand that looks more like ‘meet Meghan’ than ‘meet a royal power-couple’.”

The expert added: ”New year, new start, with Meghan seeming to want some direct and more celebrity-style communication here.”

The couple, who stepped down as senior royals in January 2020, have previously slammed ”social media ‘crisis of hate’” and claimed it’s dividing society.

Harry, 40, said the impact of social media was particularly concerning to him “as a father”.

“Because, if we are susceptible to the coercive forces in digital spaces, then we have to ask ourselves – what does this mean for our children? As a father, this is especially concerning to me.”

This is the first post under Meghan’s new handle, which is simply “Meghan”.

Meghan’s best pal, Daniel Martin, hailed the return with an Instagram post of his own, declaring “my sis is back!”

Hinting at a potential project, he added: “Watch this space…”

Meghan’s return to Instagram follows a deleted post on the app showing Prince Harry and son Archie, now four, together at a surf school.

The picture was posted by professional surfer and surf coach Raimana Van Bastolaer as part of a reel – but later deleted.

The caption read: “Don’t hate but be happy & keep smiling. Brother HARRY, Let’s go for 2025!”
