Both Kate Middleton and King Charles were diagnosed with cancer earlier this year and it’s believed the health struggles have given the Princess of Wales a new perspective
The Duke of Sussex has been estranged from his family for years and tensions heightened after he made a number of shocking allegations against the royals in his 2023 memoir Spare. With the Princess of Wales having been diagnosed with cancer earlier this year, however, a source has claimed she wants to put an end to the feud.
It’s believed she now has a “new perspective on everything” and understands time is short. The source explained, “Kate wants the family to reconcile. With the king’s health continuing to decline, there’s only so much time for that to happen. Kate is on a mission to bring Harry home.”
The source suggested she is done “waiting around for things to happen” after realizing life is “too precious.” The source said Kate has already reached out to her brother-in-law, who they described as “receptive.”
The source continued, “The main objective of her plan is for Harry to return to Britain and make amends with Charles.” Royal expert Katie Nicholl said while Kate is open to a reconciliation, her husband Prince William isn’t quite on the same page.
Speaking on The Sun’s Royal Exclusive Show, Nicholl suggested the Prince of Wales is still “very angry” with his brother after Harry issued a number of attacks against William and Kate in his memoir. In the book, Harry opened up about an explosive row he had with William, during which the Prince of Wales allegedly called Harry’s wife Meghan Markle “difficult”, “rude” and “abrasive.” Harry claims his brother then “grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he knocked me to the floor.”
Speaking to Life and Style Magazine, a source said William had “a surprising reaction” when he discovered his wife had been in touch with Harry. “While he wasn’t happy she went behind his back, he understands she’s just trying to do what she thinks is best for the family and the monarchy,” they said.
Harry has made it clear he wants to reconnect with the royal family. “The door is always open. The ball is in their court,” he told Britain’s ITV last year.
However, Charles has been less open about a reunion. Though Harry flew to Britain immediately after the monarch announced his cancer diagnosis in February, Charles reportedly met with him for less than an hour. He then snubbed his son in May when Harry visited London for a charity event, declining to meet due to his work commitments.
