“Undeserved”: NBA Fans Tear Into Stephen Curry for 2024 All Star Selection

The Golden State Warriors have had one of their disappointing runs in the last few seasons. Initially the team struggled to find winning combinations. And, the team now finds itself in the brink of losing the playoffs spot. Amid this misery, Stephen Curry’s All-Star starter snub came in as an extra blow. But, fortunately the Dubs superstar found himself in the reserves, giving some solace to Dubs Nation.

However, the rest of the NBA world doesn’t seem to be happy with Steph’s selection in the reserves. While the fans considered Steph’s starters’ miss as a snub and now, find his reserves’ spot as ‘underserving’. Following the announcement, fans swarmed the social media comments to express their opinion on The Baby-faced Assassin’s spot in the reserves. A X user said, “undeserved.”

Here are some reactions from fans.

While some felt relieved that he made it to the All-Star, others were suggesting alternative backcourt players, who could have replaced him.

This was the first time since 2013 that Stephen Curry hasn’t started the All-Star game, excluding his injured seasons. While he barely managed to even make an appearance in the 2024 All-Star, fans rubbed salt in the wounds with their hot takes.

On the other hand, the Golden State Warriors superstar started this season with MVP numbers, averaging above 30 points in the first 6 games. But it didn’t stay for long, as the lack of support from his teammates dipped his numbers. This even led to Curry failing to drop a single three-pointer in two games, a very rare phenomenon.

Currently, he averages 27.5 points much below Luka Doncic and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who replaced him in the West backcourt starters. Let’s find out who was snubbed from their reserves spot.

2024 West All-Star reserves snubs

The first name that popped in every loyal NBA fan in Victor Wembanyama. Despite the lack of experience, the French rookie managed to put up some fighting efforts throughout the season. In terms of backcourt, De’Aaron Fox, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden are the stars who didn’t make the cut.

Notably, Fox averages 27.2 points and fans highly suggested him as the replacement for Steph in the comments. Meanwhile, James Harden has had a silent run in the points column but championed at orchestrating his team with impeccable assists. Apart from that, fans felt that Jimmy Butler, who has had a decent season so far, was also snubbed.
