Stephen Curry has fallen victim to multiple no-calls and unfair refereeing in the past before. The 4x NBA Champion is one of the most unstoppable offensive athletes in the league. His opponents always seek ways to put a stop to his antics. However, nobody has been too successful guarding Curry besides a handful of players. And sometimes, defenders have had to resort to hard fouls as well.
The Golden State Warriors point guard experienced one such moment against the Memphis Grizzlies recently. During one play, Curry was aiming to grab a rebound but was unsuccessful. On the way down, the Grizzlies’ Jaren Jackson Jr. fell on top of him and did not do anything to break his fall. To some, this looked like excessive contact. However, the referees did not call it.

Some fans were frustrated by this as one fan said, “This is absurd bro that’s literally a flagrant foul dawg.” Another fan added, “The refs were right there and literally refused to make that call.” While this call wasn’t necessarily called by anybody on the floor, Jackson would’ve also simply lost balance. But such instances have been called out in the case of Draymond Green or Patrick Beverley as well.
Stephen Curry and the Warriors face another gruesome defeat
Fans are still debating whether this was a fair play by the referees. These days, players have grown excessively frustrated with referees not making proper calls. Stephen Curry has fallen victim to such instances many times during his career. These were the only times Dub Nation has ever seen Curry lose his cool on the court as well. But the veteran had other things to worry about besides the flagrant foul.
The Warriors were beaten down by the Grizzlies in another unfortunate loss. Right now, they rank 12th in the Western Conference with an 18-22 record. While this loss did not push them further down the rankings, it certainly isn’t making it easier for them to move up. The 13th-seeded Grizzlies are 3.5 games behind which gives them a good lead.
Stephen Curry had another good game finishing with 26 points, 4 rebounds, and 8 assists during the game. However, Klay Thompson’s fluctuating stats have been a major setback for the team. He only had 9 points and 3 assists in 34 minutes. Jonathan Kuminga might have to be given more time on the court as he is definitely a better fit for the starting lineup.
Despite having Green return to the lineup, his presence did not make much of a difference. The Warriors have a lot of replacing to do and it must be done either before the trade deadline or during the summer. Andrew Wiggins has been linked to a couple of trade rumors but things haven’t materialised just yet.
