Steph Curry All-Star Snub: Draymond Green Throws Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Brother Under the Bus to Prove Uncomfortable Reality

Steph Curry is an All-Star Starter” This is a statement that anyone in the league will quickly get behind considering his skill set and performances this year. However, this year’s All-Star selection didn’t feature him as a starter and this is the first time in half a decade that a healthy Curry has missed the starting line-up. The snub raised many eyebrows around the NBA, from fans to analysts, media, and now, his own teammate.

Although there is no doubt that he will be a part of the All-Star Weekend, Curry will not be a part of the core roster. Recently, his teammate and four-time All-Star Draymond Green shared his two cents on the matter in his podcast, The Draymond Green Show. In defending Curry, he also threw Giannis’s brother, Thanasis Antetokounmpo, under the bus.

The 33-year-old-forward shared, “Love to Thanasis, but three people voted for Thanasis to be a starter in and so, I don’t know what the right answer is. I honestly don’t. You know, you’re trying these different things, but Steph Curry is an All-Star starter,” said Green.

Green also added the fact that the vote was split between the media and players, along with the fans. This brings to question who voted for whom. He further added some thoughts about the starting five, “Not saying Luca (Doncic) should be removed, I’m not saying Shai should be removed, but Steph Curry is an All-Star starter.”

This is perhaps what many in the league are thinking as well, considering Curry’s recent slew of performances.

Stephen Curry has been playing like an All-Star Starter

This season has proof that the Warriors are a shadow of what they once used to be. However, one constant amid the crumbling pieces of a once mighty dynasty is its centerpiece, Stephen Curry. Over the past few games, Chef Curry showed the world why his omission from the starting five in the All-Star was a wrong decision, averaging a monster stat line of 33.4 points, 6.4 assists, and 4.8 rebounds in 5 games in his last 5 games.

He had a 46-point game against the Lakers which, for a losing cause, still his clutch performance was the reason the Warriors had any hope in the first place. In their most recent win over the Sixers, Curry had 37 points, 8 assists and 7 rebounds. While the Dubs continue to struggle, Steph at the age of 36 remains their only hope for a decent finish to this season, and that is enough reason to put him as a starter. What are your thoughts?
