Novak Djokovic Receives Unanimous Win From ATP Rivals in a Major Prediction for 2024 Over Carlos Alcaraz

Winning a Grand Slam and being the world number one is perhaps the dream of every tennis player. And, when it comes to Grand Slams there is no one closer to the 24-time Grand Slam champion, Novak Djokovic. But can he hold the momentum throughout the season and become the year-end world no.1 for 2024? Well, ATP players have this answer.

Recently Auger Aliassime, Ben Shelton, Chris Eubanks, Arthur Cazaux, Alex Michelsen, and Milos Raonic were asked to have their picks for the year-end world no.1. Guess what? The unanimous answer goes to Novak Djokovic.

Although ATP players pick Novak Djokovic to remain year-end world number 1, there are some rare picks on the list

Novak Djokovic, Daniil Medvedev, and Carlos Alcaraz all began the first Grand Slam of the season with a chance to depart Australia as world no.1. But with the recent developments in Melbourne Park, it seems like Novak Djokovic is set to retain his top spot even after the end of the Australian Open. Why? We’ll find out a bit later.

But before that let’s have a look at the picks of the ATP stars for the year-end world no.1 for 2024. While most of them picked Novak Djokovic. It was Arthur Cazaux who added a few more to the list, “I want to put you know a piece also on Sinner, Medvedev, players like this.” The two Americans had some interesting predictions too. Alex Michelsen said, “Carlos Alcaraz because he’s gonna..he’ll probably win like two or three slams, that’s why.” Ben Shelton however backed his compatriot saying, “Chris Eubanks, that’s my boy.”

Novak Djokovic tightened his grip on the top spot of the men’s ranking on Wednesday after Carlos Alcaraz’s loss to Alexander Zverev at the QF of the AO. Let’s take a deeper dive into the numbers.

According to the latest ATP rankings, Djokovic has 9855 points which is 600 points more than Carlos Alcaraz (9255). Novak Djokovic had dropped almost 2000 points as the defending champion before this week. But that isn’t a concern anymore for Djokovic’s fans as the Serb is guaranteed to remain at the top spot until February 19. This will in fact extend his run at the summit for a total of 412 weeks.

But can the Serb clinch his 11th Australian Open title this month? Well, his familiar rival, Jannik Sinner stands in the way to his road to the Grand Finale. Both of them met each other 6 times in their career. Although Djokovic leads the H2H with a 4-2 margin, the Italian has defeated the Serbian superstar 2 times in their last 3 meetings.

If Djokovic manages to lift the trophy in Melbourne, he’ll get ahead by a staggering 1800 points. Can Novak Djokovic extend his lead from the second-best at the end of this month?
