Over the years, actor Kristen Stewart and screenwriter Dylan Meyer have become the definition of #CoupleGoals. We’ve loved reading and watching interviews where they share their loved and appreciation of each other and the way they swoon over each other on the red carpet. They’ve firmly established themselves as one of our fave WLW power couples, and it’s great to see their WLW relationship celebrated in the mainstream.

2013: Their meet cute

While Kristen and Dylan were first romantically linked in 2019, they first met in 2013 on a movie set. “The day that I met her, all bets were off,” KStew told Howard Stern. “I was like, ‘Where have I been and how have I not known you?’ She’s been, like, living in LA alongside my life somehow but not ever converging?”

Six years later, the pair were finally reunited at a friend’s birthday party where they instantly hit it off and the rest is queerstory.

August 2019: Romance is in the air and dating rumours circulate

In late summer, 2019, the first images of KStew being photographed kissing and cosying up to Dylan on a curb in New York City began to circulate. The picture was captured a month after Kristen was seen kissing her ex-girlfriend Stella Maxwell.

October 2019: The hard launch

While KStew is a private person and doesn’t use social media, we’re relieved that Dylan often gives her followers insight into the couple’s relationship through the cute posts she makes. And it all started two months after dating rumours were sparked, when Dylan went Instagram official with this adorable post.

November 2019: KStew was “so f***ing in love”

In her interview with Howard Stern, KStew was clearly head over heals ad she recalled the way she told Dylan “I love you” for the first time. “It was really late and we were in some shitty bar, and her friends were there or whatever and they walked out, and I was just like, ‘Oh, man, I’m so f***ing in love with you.’ Like, done,” she said. “It wasn’t like ‘a thing,’ and it also was so obvious.”

The actor also revealed her intention to get engaged. When asked if she was in love she responded that she was “absolutely” going to propose and couldn’t “f***ing wait”.

November 2021: Kristen and Dylan revealed that they were enGAYged

KStew fans around the world were quaking with queer joy when it was announced that the happy couple were engaged. And, despite Kristen publicly expressing her intention to propose, it was Dylan who ended up popping the question. KStew didn’t reveal too many details about the proposal, but it was great to see how elated she was when she was interviewed by Jimmy Fallon.

February 2022: A drop dead gorgeous Valentine’s, wedding talk and collaborating

On Valentine’s Day, Dylan broke away from the conventional couple’s posts sharing images of their dates out at a candlelit meal and instead opted to share a picture of her and Kristen dressed as zombies and wearing matching PJs. The image was captioned: “I’ll play dead with you any time, Valentine.”

In an interview with Los Angeles Times, KStew opened up about her wedding plans, telling the publication: “The thing is, I always kind of blow presentation. I have all these big ideas, like I will get a friend a beautiful present that I’m so proud of. And I just think they’re going to love it. But instead of wrapping it up and like putting a bow on it and giving it to them at the right time, I’m like, ‘Oh, my gosh, I have this thing and I know it’s like a week before your birthday, but just f— have it because I love it and I love you.’ And if I had just wrapped it and put this in their hands on the right day, the impact would have been greater. And so I’m probably going to do that with my wedding too. I’m probably going to look back and have to do it again … which would surprise absolutely no one who knows me.”

And in an interview with Vanity Fair, shared that she was set to star in a TV show written by her fiancée. “You don’t want that to affect this beautiful relationship you have,” she said, explaining her initial worry before they “discovered a superbrain” whilst working together. “She’s a really genuinely brilliant fucking screenwriter.”

March 2022: Award season, red carpet debut and more

Other than paparazzi pictures and the occasional social media post from Dylan or their friends – such as Ashley Benson – the couple had generally remained rather low-key. But when Kristen Stewart and Ariana DeBose both made queerstory through their Oscar nominations, that all began to change. The two brides-to-be made their first public appearance together as they attended an Oscars party.

The couple also made their red carpet debut shortly later on 13 March, at the Critics Choice Awards where Kristen was also nominated in the best actress category for her role as Princess Diana in Spencer.

And while they certainly stole our breaths at the Critics Choice red carpet, on 28 March, they truly sparked gay panic on the red carpet, this time at the Oscars, when they were filmed kissing each other. And their outfits were totally matching vibes again: KStew was in a white (unbuttoned) shirt and black blazer and short and Dylan was in a (mostly unbuttoned) white shirt and black and dark red suit.

April 2022: Dylan knows how to pen a moving birthday message

Hearts melted when Dylan shared a sweet birthday tribute to Kristen on Instagram to honour her boo’s 32nd birthday. The photograph was full of love and showed the couple leaning in for a kiss over a cake. The screenwriter captioned the post: “Another one around the sun and you’re out here getting flyer every year. Time looks good on you, dude. Ya know, as they say in the toons, ‘awooga.’”

August 2022: Accidental Wayne’s World vibes

There were smiles all around when Dylan shared a photo of the couple on Instagram. As already evidenced in this article, the couple has earned a reputation for being style icons in their own right. But in the caption, Dylan acknowledged the accidental resemblance their aesthetics had to the leads in the Wayne’s World films.

April 2023: KStew turns 33

As always, Dylan shared an annual birthday tribute to her boo and it was as fun and as moving as ever. And yes, we’re manifesting KStew joining Instagram so we can see what type of captions she’d pen for her love.

June 2023: KStew and Dylz take on Japan

The power couple recently jetted off to Japan for some sightseeing and KStew’s photoshoot for Elle Japan. The final photos stirred much sapphic thirst online. And Dylan posted a pic from their trip and captioned it: “this jet lag was worth it. Thank you for having me Japan + Chanel!”
