Davis Cup 2023 has just ended with the championship belonging to the Italian team after defeating Australia in the final. While the Italians can prolong their celebrations, other teams already know their opponents in the 2024 Davis Cup qualifiers.

Davis Cup 2024 – the 112th season of the world’s oldest team tennis tournament, will begin with qualifying in the first week of February 2024. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) has organized a draw, determining 12 pairs of matches that will take place over 3 days, starting from February 2.

After a painful semi-final defeat to Italy in the 2023 tournament, the Serbian team will begin their journey towards their second Davis Cup title against Slovakia.

Novak Djokovic ended his proud 12-year unbeaten streak (21 matches) at the tournament when he lost to Jannik Sinner, but that made him even more motivated for next season.

Meanwhile, Alexander Zverev’s German team lost to Switzerland in this year’s qualifying round. Next year, the draw brings them to an difficult opponent, Hungary, a team with talented players like Fabian Marozsan and Marton Fucsovics.

As for the Swiss team, they will play against the Netherlands, one of the teams in the quarterfinals in 2023.

Canada, the 2022 Davis Cup champion, is the top seed in next year’s qualifiers and will face South Korea, while two-time champions Croatia will face Belgium.

The Czech Republic team lost painfully to Australia in the quarterfinals of Davis Cup 2023, and will seek to return to the Final 8 again. Jiri Lehecka and his teammates will face Israel, the team that defeated Japan spectacularly in World Group I in September.

One of the surprises of the 2023 tournament is that Finland reached the semi-finals at the Davis Cup for the first time. They are expected to advance to the finals again when they face Portugal.

There is an interesting match in South America between Chile and Peru, while the USA, who were sadly eliminated from the group stage in the 2023 Finals, will do it again when they face Ukraine.

Argentina will face Kazakhstan led by Alexander Bublik, while the fourth South American country in qualifying, Brazil, will face Sweden – a seven-time champion.

Currently, the 4 teams reaching the final round have been determined: Italy, Australia – 2 teams in the 2023 Davis Cup finals, United Kingdom and Spain – special places.

After the qualifying round in February 2024, the final round takes place in September with matches in the group stage. November will be the knockout round and determine the champion.
