DJ Akademiks has claimed Drake is writing his next response to Kendrick Lamar.

The internet personality made the claim on his Rumble channel on Thursday (July 18), where he has reportedly kept in close contact with the Canadian rapper throughout his feud with Lamar.

Drake and Lamar’s feud reignited back in March this year, where Lamar dropped a guest verse on Metro Boomin and Future’s joint album ‘We Don’t Trust You’. Responding to a previous J. Cole and Drake collaboration which saw Cole list himself, the 6 God and K.Dot as “the big three”, Lamar countered: “Motherfuck the big three / N****, it’s just big me.”

Now, Akademiks has claimed it’s “sneak dissing time,” adding: “It’s really never over. I can’t wait to hear the first sneak diss.

“Matter of fact, I won’t even tell y’all what I heard but the first sneak diss Drake got that’s dissing Kendrick, how he positions it, that’s going to be interesting.”

Earlier this month, Akademiks teased new Drake music, promising that it was “fye”: “All u n****s who been acting like Drake finished… bookmark this tweet for 6 months from now. We dont want u n****s no where near us……Remember that.”

The feud has seen a number of celebrities take sides, with former Fifth Harmony member Camila Cabello calling the slander towards Drake “frustrating”, and Serena Williams roasting Drake at the ESPYs.

“And if I’ve learned anything this year, it’s that none of us—not a single one of us, not even me—should ever pick a fight with Kendrick Lamar,” she joked.

Drake’s last full-length release was 2023 ‘For All The Dogs’, which was given a two-star review by NME. “In the hours shortly before the album dropped, Drake announced that he would take a break from music to focus on his health,” it read. “‘I probably won’t make music for a little bit,’ he told fans. ‘I’m going to lock the door on the studio for a little bit.’ Hopefully he returns revitalised and renewed, because ‘For All The Dogs’ – his third solo LP in as many years – not only feels tiring, but sounds tired too.”

In other news, Drake has shared a video of his flooded mansion as torrential rain hits Toronto.
