“It doesn’t have to end but”: Vin Diesel and His Co-star Are Not Sad About Fast and Furious Franchise Ending After Two More Movie

The Fast & Furious saga is gradually approaching the conclusion of its cinematic journey. Public awareness of the franchise’s impending conclusion after two additional films, starting with this year’s Fast X, has been established for some time. But Vin Diesel and other actors aren’t sad about it.

The fan base has exhibited a range of emotions regarding the series’ prolonged run coming to an end. Alongside the candid responses from devoted followers, the cast members, and even a portion of the crew, have also expressed their thoughts on the matter.

Vin Diesel And Co-stars Aren’t Sad The Series Is Ending

It’s easy to jump to the conclusion that the cast and crew are simply engulfed in sadness due to their prolonged collaboration on these films. However, their perspectives on the impending closure of the Fast & Furious franchise are actually more layered than one might assume.

Undoubtedly, it’s evident that Vin Diesel has largely assumed a leadership role in driving forward this vehicle-centric franchise. Portraying the character of principled ex-convict Dominic Toretto, Diesel has amassed considerable influence over the course of his career.

If he were to advocate for the perpetuation of this box office-dominating saga, it’s likely that Universal Pictures’ executives wouldn’t object. However, Diesel shared his perspective with the Associated Press in 2021, asserting that it’s now appropriate to bring this series to a satisfying conclusion:

“Every story deserves its own ending. I know people are going to feel like it doesn’t have to end, but I think all good things should. There are reasons for a finale. I think this franchise has deserved it.”

That’s indeed a rational perspective to adopt in such a scenario. If the reports are to be believed, the series will meet its end with the 12th film in the franchise.

Vin Diesel’s Co-stars Share Their Emotions

Chris ‘Ludacris’ Bridges, known for his role as Tej Parker, has been an integral part of this franchise since its second installment in 2003, 2 Fast 2 Furious. Similar to many of his fellow cast members, he’s deeply committed to this cinematic venture. The beloved rapper is known for his straightforward approach, consistently offering candid answers when questioned about his viewpoints on various subjects.

“They just announced that we’re going to end on 10 and 11. Personally I thought we were going to end on 10 but I’m not at all sad about it because you got to think about, I came out in 2 Fast 2 Furious. We never knew we would get a callback from 5, now I’ve been in 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. And now they’re telling me there’s going to be two more? I’m happy! To hell with being sad, don’t be sad! Be happy.”

Besides, Michelle Rodriguez’s presence is indispensable to the essence of the Fast & Furious franchise, infusing Letty Ortiz with precisely the kind of formidable energy required. As of now, Rodriguez, a beloved figure among fans, hasn’t extensively discussed her sentiments regarding bidding farewell to her character.
