Nothing reflects the WWE Superstar’s transformation over the years better than the tattoos inked on his body, with each one carrying some cultural significance or deeper meaning, especially one.

But among the several tattoos, ranging from The sun near his neck to the Coconut leaves tattoo, his most iconic one, the Brahman bull like the actor, has undergone its own transformation.

One of Dwayne Johnson’s earlier tattoos involves the Bull, which resonates with his Wrestling alliance, the Brahma Bull. Initially carved into his shoulder in his teenage days, the tattoo became as iconic as the wrestler itself back in the Attitude Era. But since moving on from his wrestling roots for his Hollywood career, the bull has also transformed into its bigger form, positioned in his right upper bicep. The new distinctive half-sleeve bull tattoo, which took a whopping 4 years, spanning over 20 hours, concluded in 2021 and concealed the smaller Brahma Bull.

Back in 2017, while kickstarting the meticulous process, Johnson said (via Instagram),
“Evolution of the bull begins. I’ve engrained this bull in my DNA for two decades. My core. Humbly, it’s also become a symbol of strength, resilience, heart, power and defiance to so many people around the world. I got this tattoo when I was just a kid. Now I need it to reflect me as a man.”

Symbolizing strength, resilience, and defiance, the Bull also has a far deeper meaning linked to it, as the Black Adam Star explained that it reflected his growth as a man.

Dwayne Johnson’s Career Might Follow the Bull

Like his bull tattoo, it appears Dwayne Johnson is looking to revamp his acting career. Considering his previously proven formula of low-risk projects that prioritized his brand image is no longer bringing in the results, the new A24 film with him at the forefront might change things for the better.  Keeping in mind the last time he delivered an exceptional performance was under auteur Michael Bay’s direction, working with Benny Safdie for The Smashing Machine might push him to showcase his acting chops.
